Default Question about banned flavors in cigarettes

Does anyone know how this idea of no flavors will effect pipe tobacco smokers. They have had flavored tobacco for as long as I can remember.(Funny how you don't see kids sporting a Sherlock Holmes pipe) Doesn't this no flavors rule only really extend to things like chocolate, strawberry, watermelon etc... I thought flavors that are generally considered part of a regular tobacco or menthol will still be allowed.

I do believe that ALL cigarettes are flavored in one way or another. As an example I thought things like caramel flavoring was added to many cigarette types.

Surly flavorings can still be added to our juice recipes should the SE vs FDA case work in our favor. We just can not have any thing that would be labeled the same as a confection. As an example, I really enjoy espresso flavored juice. Really it doesn't taste like espresso to me, it tastes a bit more like a rough Tennessee Cured which would still be considered a tobacco flavor.

Am I wrong here?

As I understand it, the ban applies to cigarettes only, and does not require that all flavorings be removed from cigarettes.

Candy and Fruit Flavored Cigarettes Now Illegal in United States; Step is First Under New Tobacco Law

Dr. Siegel commented "The flavored cigarette ban gets rid of a few minor brands which are hardly used by any youths, while exempting the one flavoring that is actually being used by millions of young people."
The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary: Anti-Smoking Groups Called Out Publicly for Their Lies on Flavored Cigarette Ban

"The FDA is also examining options for regulating both menthol cigarettes and flavored tobacco products other than cigarettes."

They have been banned since he signed it into law. And yes it includes kreteks .Importation is fine, just sale and distribution is what is being scrutinized. shopping online may be your best bet concerning clove cigarettes (kreteks) or any other flavored tobaccos when you local shops start running out

Snipped from one of the other posts.

"Does the ban apply to bona fide pipe tobacco?
No. The ban does not apply to bona fide pipe tobacco. However, as noted above in question 5, the ban applies to all tobacco products with certain characterizing flavors that meet the definition of a “cigarette” in section 900(3) of the FDCA. The definition of a “cigarette” includes “tobacco, in any form, that is functional in the product, which, because of its appearance, the type of tobacco used in the filler, or its packaging and labeling, is likely to be offered to, or purchased by, consumers as a cigarette or as roll-your-own tobacco.”
We encourage members of the public to submit any information relevant to compliance with the ban of cigarettes containing characterizing flavors regarding any tobacco product that may meet the definition of a “cigarette.” Please submit any information to Docket No. FDA-2009-N-0294."

you can read the full ruling on flavorings on page 247 of the daily docket post.

I can see your concern, in NJ, that whole mess with the Congresswomen Wagner...she wants to make sure that E-cigs have the same restrictions on them as tobacco cigarettes. Which may or may not tap into the whole flavor thing!

Even if the flavor restriction happens to liquids, there is always unflavored. so you'd have the ability to add your own flavors after the fact. As long as it is not manufactured with flavoring it should fly.

Can you put coffee grounds in a pg solution, slosh it around for a while until they melt some--strain the grounds out--and load it into your 510?

Or will that explode your lungs or something?
