If you do become a Republic and fight for your Freedom and Win will you please invade the UK ? Let us know when your going to do it and we'll have The Resistance ready.
I'm sick of these Neo-Fascists telling me that they own my body and soul.
I am so angry today and ashamed of My Country today as well because they will follow the same line as your Country. All our Father and Grandfather's fought in two world wars for a "Land fit for Heroes" and we've ended up with a Land and People Owned and Controlled by Hypocrites, Liars and Thieving Murderer's.

Somebody mentioned Guy Fawkes in one thread on here.

The only republic we are going to get is a "people one", like you have the right to shut the ...... up, may be. The Goverment said we will have one, so if they want one I sure in the hell dont! And the sad thing is most younger aussie do as they think we will be like th USA but thats bull, we will not even be able to vote for a Pres, only a party and they will hand that title out. No my friends a repulic will do us over and we will dun in like a duck dinner.

Man, I only found out about this this morning. Others have expressed feelings that I share on the matter much more eloquently than I would, so I think I'll leave it at that.

dodomark, best of luck with the legal stuff. Stick it to those bitches.

I've sent an email to NSW's department of health to try to find out if there are any similar bans planned here. And if there are, I'll be making as much noise at them as possible.

Well, it's about time I popped in and said hello (now that I've calmed down a little)...

Hi Guys, it's Ed from ciggy. As you may have seen, this ban has led me to close up shop.

I spent a lot of time yesterday & last night chatting with fellow e-smokers on the phone and have realised that I have a bit of fight left in me yet.

I don't believe trying to re-invent the wheel isn't going to change things but I'm hoping there may be a workable solution.

Prior to e-cigs, I had successfully given up analogues (for 14 months) using nicorette inhalers. (google "nicorette inhaler" to see what they look like and how they work).

They're harsh and in a word, clinical. They have a faint minty taste but more like an injection swab on the back of the throat delivering an instant hit of nicotine, they did the job of providing 10mg of nicotine over a 20 minute period if used non-stop. When used sparingly, after 2 hours the cartridge was useless unless you're into placebos!.

Of course, they lacked both flavour and vapour which is why I believe that e-cigs are so successful as a nicotine delivery method.

Now the way I understand things, the basis of the ban is on "unregulated" nicotine and also paraphernalia that is used to deliver "unregulated" nicotine.

    Without being able to provide any definitive answers on what's allowed or not, I have an idea that's may be a compromise;

"Combining a government regulated nicotine delivery system with a personal vaporiser which provides flavour and vapour"

The point would be to only use a 0 nic mix of Tobacco Essence in a base of PG or VG and combine it on the inhale with the nicotine purchased through "government regulated" sources.

Does any of this make sense yet?

That could well be a nice little loophole.

It seems more realistic than getting e-liquid to be government regulated.

Hi Ed, as I said on the phone I think this is a fantastic idea. Obviously it will be more expensive, but still a viable solution for us addicts looking for healthier alternatives. As my level of nicotine requirement is quite high at this stage, I'm visualising an 801 with 6-8 nicotine inhalers strapped to it, sort of "Dirty Harry" style .

I'm quite willing to participate in any trials, please send me hazardous amounts at your leisure

Thanks guys, I'm really hoping not to give up either.

When I switched to e-cigs, I still had a few nicorette inhalers left. Enough to experiment with so I made up a crude prototype.

Utilising the nicorette provided mouthpiece and cartridge, I attached it to the top of a DSE103 (with 2 hole atomiser) to see if I could draw vapour through a spent nicorette cartridge.

I was surprised that it worked although the draw was notably harder, I could even taste the menthol e-liquid through it.

I had a play around with photoshop this morning to create a concept image of how it would look & work.

I think the idea would be to purchase an utilise the nicorette inhaler kit as much as possible and then, in keeping with it's clinical looks - adapt the inner workings of a sealed cart, atomiser & auto battery along with an LED to show charge and use.

With Di's suggestion, I've named this: Vaporette

Imagine a bunch of 80's gym clad babes in leg warmers and sweatbands jumping out from behind a tree chanting - Vaporette, Vaporette, Vapor up your Nicorette next time you reach for a boring old inhaler!
