this place is maturing.. these kinda jokes would have evoked howls of PC protests a few months back..

never understood the kiwi/aussie rivarly. this seems light hearted but sometimes it gets really vicious and i know when i confuse the two, I get thoroughly berated by either party.

anywho, your avatar reminded me of that movie "world's fatest indian" trumpy. have you seen it ? one of the best I've seen in a while. what did you kiwis think of hopkin's accent ? was it any good ?

Aussie/Kiwi rivalry is ingrained in both nations at birth lol
DC It is always in good fun tho and never vicious, well amongst normal aussie/kiwis anyway ... truth be told we are actually good mates , and thats what good mates do down here --- good natured ribbing , which sometimes appears to other nations as nasty , but we know the intent.... I actually have the worlds slowest indian !!! its a 1924 indian pot plant holder LOL a frame and various engine bits with a wooden replica tank to hold flowers ... a very good movie tho !

the film did take few liberties thow.. could the guy really have been such good natured but bumbling incompetent as he was made out to be..

each step he took ended up in predictable disaster and had him completely dependent on the next good natured american to happen along..

using his neighbours kitchen knife to make slicks out of his tires and boot black to fill the cracks kinda made me cringe.. i did like the angle grinder on his toenails thow... i use a black and decker power file on mine... he he he

The rivalry is fine (and yes Trumpy, ingrained at birth!) - but what IS funny is that the same jokes are flung both ways. Hehe!

It only really gets serious on the rugby field, and even then the guys pretty much go and have a beer together after the game. It's all good!

lol -- That why I bought a Dremel trog !!!
And apparently Burt Munroe was pretty much an affable old dodderer but quite brilliant in his own way ( bit like you and me )
Must be an Aussie/Kiwi thing , the " She'll be right " attitude , we have a saying here , if ya cant fix it with a bit of hayband or fencing wire it must be REALLY broke !!!
I remember being stuck out the back of Quorn ( outback South Australia , yeah the REAL outback lol , like ya see on the films) with a burnt out/bent valve on my old BMW boxer airhead.... up rolls a chap in a ute , turns out his property is like 200 k's in the other direction , next town is like 200 k's the other way ... "lets have a look he says"..."righto" says I
well about an hour later we have said offending valve and both agree she is " Buggered" in highly technical speak ...
He's looking at her , says "be back in an hour or so " and off he trots to the truck, gone in a puff of dust! lol
Sure enuff bout an hour 30 later he pulls up ... try this he says.. pulls out a valve out of his pocket--- same size face, just a little long in the shaft.... break out hacksaw, lop 1/2 inch or so , cut springclip groove... place in head , re-assemble... vroooooom...turns out about 30 clicks up the track theres a old sidevalve , been there since noah was a lad and he thought it might do the trick --- that valve did a further 2,000 k's before I swapped it out for the correct bit in Darwin !!!... Thats just how we do things here LOL

Oh and back on topic I am still a criminal , I still cant legally use the things I legally bought, I'm still pissed off, and I am still working on it !!!

I was just getting used to the idea of an Australian e-ban when I stumbled across this item:

    Australian topless bathing ban urged

Dec 30 - A group of conservative politicians is making headway towards a ban on topless bathing on some of Australia's best known beaches.

Christian lawmaker and veteran morals campaigner Reverend Fred Nile has won backing from key politicians in New South Wales state, home to Sydney and its famed ocean beaches, to tighten existing laws covering nude sunbathing.

Sorry, Trumpy, but we're gonna have to hold that First Annual e-smoking Personal Vaporizer Convention somewhere else.
