Bless them and their shareholdres, because they gave me the opportunity to continue my habit in incomparably healthier way. And I do not think they worked on all the inventions and development thinking about the health of middle-aged Westerners.

Getting the official NRT status does not mean they get a monopoly. Everybody and their dog can follow suit. Also it will be MUCH more difficult to ban the other devices/liquids, that are virtually the same, just do not have the official stamp and are imported by thousands of individuals. Once they get the status, criminalization of "electronic devices for nicotine delivery" is virtually impossible. Yes, they can ban "other than Ruyan" devices, but that stinks to the electorate and is much more difficult to actually enforce. Proving you knew rňthat the $15 Health Brand Ruian Micro e-cig was not genuine state-sanctioned NRT and so you broke the law? Yeah, sure... "You are obliged by the relevant legislation to know the correct spelling of our country allowed monopoly supplier"

But I sort of agree with Trog on this. With a bit luck there will be more interesting things for the big ones to play with... A war or two... Plus another on terrorism... CCTV to every household... Chips to be transferred from your passports to your body because you could lose the passport... New laws restricting freedom of speech... Etc.

(And that's one big worry of me overall about any regulation... it will shove out the poorer people, leaving them to smoke some kind of filth - because smoke they will...) (And no, if they get themselves a monopoly as they are trying, not one ounce of me believes their devices will get any cheaper when mass-produced... that will be just more dollars to line the shareholder-pockets)
What I mean is regulation by one country will give a backup plan to China's regulation, which as we know with "date rape drug" and lead laced toys isn't that reliable.
Once some other country besides China starts regulating I will have more faith that I'm not the one getting the juice made with nicotine that was shipped in barrels that previously held rat poison.

I certainly don't want that regulation to come to my country let alone declaring it NRT here. I will not pay a doctor $100 so I can pay more for a week's supply of nicotine than I ever did on cigarettes.

three things will happen to e cigs.. they will ether be ignored (hopefully).. banned out right.. or regulated so as they are not addictive..

no way on this planet will mother permit another highly addictive product be let lose on her children.. regulated and safe will simply mean none addictive and useless as an alternative (safer) nicotine provider..

mother wants her children off nicotine.. bingo.. no ifs and buts..

dream on guys.. safe to mother means none addictive.. NRT means none addictive..

our only hope is that mother is busy doing other things (saving the world) and by the time she gets around to sorting e cigs out there are that many users she will back off..

what are you talking about?! all nrt contains nicotine doesnt it!!? its also just as addictive as smoking simply because, well, it contains nicotine!

i know 2 guys who quit smoking but are now addicted to nicotine gum and a nicotine nasal spray!

forgive me if i have misread your post but i cant agree with you on that one.

alan carr, who was a world wide stop smoking guru was always against nrt for the simple fact that you are replacing nicotine for more nicotine. the sole single reason why anyone smokes is because of nicotine........not taste, not stress etc etc etc etc

I realize this is a little off topic but I spotted, while walking through Target, a Alan Carr Stop Smoking game for the Nintendo DS....I couldn't help but giggle.

Wow. We need to get Yo Han at work on a cell phone e-device. Remember his Rubber Sucky Ducky and Computer Mouse e-devices? This phone could have a screw-on for a LoongTotem atomizer/cart piece and the on-screen depiction could time a cigarette being smoked. It already has a battery. I'd buy it!

For those who don't know Yo Han's work -- the man's incredible. Here are two must-see links of things he created months ago:

you got the makings of a good idea there bob. that would be something that would be actually worth Ruyan's $178 price tag. I'm sure Smule would be game. I don't have an ipone but I was fascinated by their Ocarina App. Would nearly persuade me to get one.

Am I the only one thinking that Trog has come down with an Oedipus complex? Where's Freud when you need him.

This thread is all based on assumption and rumour is it not ?
Is there any real proof of this ?
