    Default A Win in MD?

CES reported in another thread that HB720 was killed in committee and I found confirmation on their website. I think this is a win. Does anyone else have any more info?

Any killed bill is a good bill and helps the cause.

Could someone clarify, please? Is the MD bill now dead?

This one looks like it restricts vaping to smoking areas. It had a first reading and is not currently scheduled for hearing.

Woohoo! That sure looks like 720 got voted down. Maybe that would've happened anyway, but it's nice to think our emails had an impact

Now, onto that new bill... Just looking at the wording of it, I don't see how it would apply to us. Vaporizers don't produce smoke. I wonder if the intent of that bill is to prohibit vaping and it's just poorly worded (which would once again demonstrate how uninformed most people are about ecigs), or if it was worded that way intentionally in anticipation of someone creating an actual electronic smoking device.
Smoke-free since Oct '09 thanks to ecigs!

I hope all these intened bans get shot down. I personally don't care if I have to vape outside or in designated areas as long as it doesn't become illegal.

Well, it is poorly worded, but it's definitely about e-cigs. The title of the bill is: Health – Clean Indoor Air Act – Electronic Smoking Devices

This link doesn't look like it works anymore.

EDIT: Nevermind, the other one isn't working either. Site is just not available atm.

i looked at the pdf of that bill and the wording is pretty specific about pv.

“ELECTRONIC SMOKING DEVICE” MEANS AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE 3 THAT IS USED TO DELIVER NICOTINE OR OTHER SUBSTANCES TO THE 4 INDIVIDUAL WHO INHALES FROM THE DEVICE.
