Great LA Times article on e-cigs.
"This is exactly what the tobacco companies have been afraid of all these years, an alternative method of delivering nicotine that is actually enjoyable," said David Sweanor, an adjunct law professor at the University of Ottawa who specializes in tobacco issues. "It took the Chinese, who are very entrepreneurial, and not burdened with all kinds of regulation, to take the risk."

Hon Lik of Beijing, who quit smoking after his father died of lung cancer, developed e-cigarettes to deliver nicotine with a smoke-free vapor. They’ll be available in Texas soon.
A high-tech approach to getting a nicotine fix
This has to be one of the more positive articles on e-cigs that I've read!!

It's hard to believe how positive this article is. It's almost overly biased to our side...but I'll take it.

It also shows that Ruyan at least has a strategy to survive the coming regulatory pressure.

The story of how and why he developed the e-cig was actually quite touching, imho.
This article gives me hope that not all the media is intent on making e-cigs seem like trickery or evil.

Wonder if they are talking about the petition I created not Bill lol. But whatever guess if it gets us more sigs
.
"You have these abstinence-only extremists who want to eradicate all nicotine product. But as you've seen, whether we're talking about sex or alcohol or nicotine, abstinence doesn't really work," said Godshall, who has collected 4,000 signatures on a petition to allow e-cigarettes to be legally sold in the United States.

Aww, they should have put a link to the petition in there! Superb article, and quite a different perspective from many I've seen. I always keep thinking how I wish these things had been around 15 or more years ago, my mother might have tried it at least to cut down (4 packs a day!) and have lived a bit longer.

There seems to be general shift is a lot of the recent media reports to a much more positive tone. I'm not sure why, but it's very encouraging. The potential of these devices can't be overstated.
