    Default Patents

I don't know if this is the right thread for this or if anyone has ever posted it, but here it is.

Cigarette substitute device and composition for use therein - Patent 6041789

I don't even know the significance other than I find the dates on the patents interesting. Some were abandoned at one point.
Whoever they are they tried to lock up all this kind of sH*#.

Great find!!! The dates are early enough. I message Lacey with this thread link.
How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people.

I hope Lacey remembers, because I saw a thread months ago on a e-cig type thing patented in the 30's (I think).

Kate, may remember, I think she has her stuff indexed. Great sorce of information.

It don't hurt to post things that have got lost in the shuffle. Sometimes we all need reminders of things we read months ago.

If it is interesting post it. Besides we have new people that have not seen that thread and that thread will probably never see the light of a screen again other wise.

This is one I have not come across yet, but I have come across at least 12 others.

But the real thing we have to remember here is that the ecig was patented about 19 years ago by Philip Morris and they let their patent run out (just this year). Granted, it was a little bit different, a very infantile version of our ecig, but the tobacco cigarette has evolved itself.

I assume everyone is looking for a date before the Feb 2007 date? Well... one thing I have noticed is that the nJoy URL was created in 1995.

That date, as I understand it, involves a product actively being sold in the United States. Not patented. Not being market-tested. But being sold on the open market prior to February 2007.

I'd love to find out that is NOT the case if anyone knows for certain ...

    TB,

It's was too much for me to read. I wasn't even looking for it when I found it. I have tobacco resinoid and when I googled "tobacco resinoid" to be able to explain too someone what I had, there it was. First page. I hope it means something.

TB is right, being sold prior to Feb 07 is the key.

When did Njoy first hit the market?

George, can you elaborate why this date is significant?
