As a newbie, I was freaking out about this pending litigation until another member assured me there may be ways around a ban. I am still following this thread closely. Of course, when people invest in a starter kit, they want some assurance they will be able to use the product!
For me, the incentives to try "vaping" were:
1. ease of use (I got the KR808D-1)
2. cost (refillable carts make this much cheaper than smoking)
3. social acceptance (e-cigs negate ALL the complaints of non-smokers!)
4. taste (flavors make e-gics taste better; it also makes them a toy!)
5. health benefits
When I first ordered my starter kit, I planned to use e-cigs only in places where smoking is socially acceptable and/or not allowed. I had no intention of giving up my regular cigarettes. Yesterday was my first day of no analogs. (I just got my spare battery!)
Based on my experience, I feel that it would be criminal for the government or court system to do anything that would diminish these incentives. That is unless or until there is definitive, unbiased, scientific proof that e-cigs are worse than real cigs (especially for bystanders).
Even big pharma and big tobacco should know they do not want a tea party on nicotine withdrawal!
I was surfing the web when I found it. I will try to find it again.
Here is the link: ACS :: Guide to Quitting Smoking.
It's about halfway down the page, under "Other Methods of Quitting", "Other Nicotine and Tobacco Product not Approved or Reviewed by the FDA".
They are critical of it and they mention the FDA test results, but at least they did include the e-cig under "other methods of quitting".
