Technically, we already have peaceful revolutions every couple of years (i.e. elections). The problem we have is now that one politician is all but interchangeable with another. How and why we dreamed up this party system is hard for me to wrap my head around.

And then there is our huge, ineffectual, and wasteful bureaucracy (see: FDA, IRS, EPA, etc. ad nauseum) that no one seems interested in chopping down. Every congressman dreams of sponsoring a bill that creates a new acronym for the huge, confusing alphabet soup that is government and someday seeing their name on some state-funded plaque in the lobby of some building paid for by tax dollars, but when is the last time you heard one speak of dissolving a government agency? Our beuraucracy is what really needs revolting against.

And I won't even start on lobbyists and special interest groups. You're all probably sick of my rant already.

I vote we strip it down to the Constitution and Bill of Rights, never elect anyone who's ever served a term in office before again, and start over. Anybody with me?

    Default Stay?

Hmmm. Let me get my crystal ball out......

Admin. Stay for unreasonable amount of time....

    Pact Act passed congress...

    Pres. signs Pact Act.....

    State bans go into effect....

Immediate decision on Admin. Stay now that controls/regulations are in place....

    Reasonable?

Use code "ecf" for 10% off

It's not really that they are willing to give up their freedoms, although many are eager to do just that, sadly that is true at times (if you are not guilty what have you to fear? they said... Traitor and sympathizer they called anyone who questioned the bill.), but it really has more to do with the fact that in our modern society, even with all the increased access to info and those who represent us making it easier than at any other time in history to make your voice heard and get involved.... politics are "boring" and the average citizen is ignorant about all things politics.

WE all complain about the politicians, the laws, the process, everything about politics, BUT..... When it comes right down to it, the average American citizen can tell you exactly who their favorite movie star is dating, what their fav sports guy eats for breakfast, who Tiger is banging and who won American Idol last week.... but they can't even name their senators or their districts.

We allow ourselves to be manipulated by our inaction. I hear it all the time "Why bother? Won't do any good." or "it's just so boring" (which, by the way, is exactly what those manipulating you want).

So, instead of taking the time to actually learn what's going on, to call our representatives, to get involved in campaigns or to try to make a difference, we instead put our trust in the media and PR companies and get the 30 sec slanted version of things and then use that as our sole basis for decisions.

This last election was a great example. How many people do you know whose primary criteria for who got their vote was:
    1. How old are they
    2. Were they in the military?
    3. What color / sex are they? (wouldn't it be cool to have a woman or black president? I'll vote for history, instead of for actual qualifications)
    4. Who looked sexier?
    5. What is their stance on Abortion / gay marriage / 10 commandments at a courthouse
    6. Who did my fav TV celebrity or "news network" tell me to vote for
    7. AND THE BIGGEST ONE OF ALL: I vote for parties, not people.
I've seen such great action recently by those who are literally getting involved for the very first time because of the ecig debate. Finally people are waking up and learning how to make their voices heard, how to band together to make a difference, how the system works and who controls it in the end...

I can only hope they continue to be involved beyond this one issue and take this new found interest in politics and apply it in their daily lives.

For in the end, politics are what affects your life more than anything else. Put down the remote, turn off the football game, the FOX news, the American Idol, stop caring who Angelina or Tiger are banging and start worrying about the important things that affect you and your children and everyone you love. The other things might be more fun, but in the end who won the game means nothing, but the stuff that happened in Congress during the game means everything.

Stay involved!! Get informed!!! Make "We the people" mean something once again.

The real issue is not so much what happened in Congress, but what happened behind the doors, in the 'smoke~filled' rooms, and on AirForce One. For a president who campaigned on openness and transperancy, I am discussed by all the deals, bribery and sell outs that happened over the heathcare BS. I know my representative sold out and I will do everything in my power to make sure he is out in the next election. My saddness is that even though he has killed his political career, there has been a deal made that has set him up for life. What a self~serving

This may have been business as usual in Washington, but it had better be the last time such a blatant misuse of the people is ever perpetrated on the american public ever again. I guess we now know where all that stimulus money Obama has never given out is going!

My take Jerry is that the Appeals Court is going to do what Judge Leon did, and affirm the ruling. That is why this delay will not be deemed as prejudical to SE or NJOY.

On the other end of the spectrum is that the Court is letting the States do their work and then overturn Judge Leon.

Bottom line is we just do not know my Friend.

Without reading all 500+ pages of this thread...do the other products currently on the market get wrapped up in these proposed laws also? Vicks vaporizer with menthol pads sold at baby's r us, Glade plug-in air freshener, humidifier fragrances, aromatherapy liquids?

I would think that incense sticks, candles (smoke) and can air fresheners (aerosol) would be excluded. How do proposed laws affect perfume and dryer sheet fragrances (considering scent continues coming off clothes once in the closet or being worn)? I think they will clearly have to define (good luck) the line of inhaling scents between products such as the smell of a bakery and those generated by food flavorings used in personal vaporizers.
