oh crap! i'm about ready to order some more killer juice from him.

i'll still shop with him no matter how the payment goes though.

do these sellers have to get a CC merchant account to keep taking CC's?

    Yes, they do.

IMO we consumers should cancel our PP accounts in protest.

Agreed. And I just did a few days ago (of course it took 3-5 days to get my money out).

I'm comfused by the comment getting your money out when you cancel PayPal. I have instant automatic debit to my checking account set up for purchases. What option are you using that you need to get your money out?

    Thanks!

PayPal is a money market account. I used to have some money in there for a long time just collecting interest. When people would pay me for something via PayPal, I just left it in the account. If you want to transfer it out to a "real" account it takes 3-5 days for the transfer. In reality it takes 3-5 seconds but PayPal uses the days in "limbo" to make money off you without having to pay you money (interest) for it. That's a big part of their business model.

In any case, when people get their accounts frozen it gets really hard to get their money out of the account. This is probably happening with the suppliers that are getting booted.

I can get my money out paypal instantly, because I have the paypal debit card In my business (none e-cig related), paypal is a necessary evil, but for the most part works good.

I think it wise to be proactive in this case. We need suppliers to be able to do business.

Does it cost a lot to leave paypal up but to take another way of paying next to that?
Asking because not all people have (or can get) CC, especially in a number of european countries. You would be closing them out from buying. Bad enough if Paypal does that; but to do it as vendor 'just in case'... understandable, but hard on those (then-not-anymore) customers.
