12 million people will hear this, and it's very balanced.

Tugger,
Is there actual transcript or just published preface article?

Generally, these articles are just the script the reporter reads on the air, the quotes are usually recordings of the people interviewed.
But to be more precise, I don't know if this will match exactly what we will hear, I just suspect it is.
I listen to ATC everyday, and that's generally how it works. I doubt they'll give this subject more than two or three minutes of airtime.

I'm listing to the stream know and noticed they are taking live calls. Do you know if "All Things Considered" at 4 will take live calls?

They won't. It's not their format. You're probably listening to "Talk of the Nation" with Neal Conan. TOTN is a call-in show, also nationwide.

Im not a NPR fan (besides the Click and Clack brothers),but that transcript seemed to be fair and got a few points accross the FDA "left out".
Good find!

"It just may be that these products could help some people quit smoking, in which case the manufacturers have the opportunity to come to the FDA and demonstrate that with data," he says. "It's their obligation to prove that in order to market to the American people."
I understand that this is not sold as a "quit smoking" device, but I wonder why. Look at all the people here that no longer smoke analogs.
Should we not "work on this"?
Would this not be a good argument for us?
