Cigarette Wars: US Curbs Smoking & Ryanair Encourages It

    Partial quotes:
The US Food & Drink Administration (FDA) have announced that they will ban the sale of flavoured cigarettes in the US, a move which is directly aimed at trying to take away a product which mostly serves to encourage kids to begin smoking. All candy, clove and fruit-flavoured cigarettes are outlawed from today by the US government agency, and they have also announced that they are considering banning all menthol flavoured cigarette and tobacco products. Meanwhile, over this side of the Atlantic, Ryanair have announced plans to introduce the sale and use of smokeless cigarettes on all of their flights. According to Europe's biggest carrier, while this is to produce extra income, it was the second most requested item/service on a recent survey of their passengers, so the airline are only really giving their passengers what they asked for. What a load of codswallop!
In Sunday's press release, Ryanair mention that 24,000 passengers asked for this, and the spokesman portrayed the idea that the airline is only responding to customers' demands and needs.

Umm.. What are smokeless cigarettes? They can't mean pv's because they're too cheap at €6 for 10.

They do make very very cheap PVs. I bet they don't cost even close to what we are paying for them to produce. I bet atomizers are VERY VERY cheap to produce, and someone is getting mega rich off of them.

The FDA does not realize the can of worms they are opening with this law. And banning menthol will be the straw that breaks the camels back.

You think banning e-cigs will be bad? Wait what happens when this comes down the pike.

Bannning it will make a revolution. We are here to vape for the sake of the health of others. Smokeless cigarettes are the best for us smokers and non-smokers alike.

    codswallop
British English term meaning "nonsense" or sloppy rubbish.
The world stinks. I was blissfully unaware of that as a smoker.

There are smokeless cigarettes -- like Aveos and I can't remember there is another brand as well that the airline is actually going to be selling themselves directly to the passengers.

No batteries, no lighters, no nothing. It is basically an inhaler of sorts that just looks like a ciggie and KIND OF tastes like one with no vapor or smoke of any kind.

You suck on it, get a little bit of throat hit depending on the brand / strength, and that's about it.

'It tastes quite weird but I guess it could be more pleasurable than other cigarettes as you are not actually inhaling all that smoke.'

Oh this one needs some commits:
Apparently you can die of cancer whether you suck on a smokeless e-cig or a cigarette with real tobacco.

    I couldn't resist leaving a comment.
E-cigs are not "quit smoking" devices - they are an alternative way to smoke, with a much reduced risk profile. Click to subscribe - IT'S FREE!
