I think the agenda put forth by anti-everything groups such as the DoH trumps objective journalism. The rep was more honest when he stated the PV was a way around the ban...that is what bothers these groups the most. How dare we go out and find something that works with out their approval!

They said it all. It is those nasty smoker villains trying to get around the ban. Gotta punish them. Even mentioning their evil second-hand smoke that has nothing to do with e-cigarettes. It is a losing battle. Smokers = easy prey villains. They won't let you go.

My comments. I used the form and emailed her directly.
"They found e-cigarettes contain proprelyne glycol which is basically the chemical used to make the smoke in this product," said Albert J. Ferrara of the New Jersey Health Department. "We don't know how serious that could be, but, again, it is an ingredient used in antifreeze in our cars and that doesn't sound healthy to any of us."

Seriously? Why didn't you call him on this comment?? He's talking about ETHYLENE glycol. Propylene glycol is a FOOD base. It's a main ingredient in McCormick Imitation Vanilla flavoring - PRODUCT INGREDIENTS:
WATER, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, ALCOHOL (16%), VANILLA EXTRACT, VANILLIN, CARAMEL COLOR, AND NATURAL FLAVOR. (http://www.mccormick.com/Products/Ex...lla-Blend.aspx), not to mention the toothpaste in my medicine cabinet.

This is a common scare tactic and just plain sloppy reporting. The lives of the THOUSANDS of ex-smokers who use these devices depend on responsible reporting. If these are banned, these people will return to tobacco cigarettes and a guaranteed death sentence. Electronic cigarettes may not be 100% safe, but they are "reduced harm" compared to tobacco cigarettes.

If you really want a good story, why not do a piece based on why the FDA REALLY wants this product removed from the market and all of the misinformation being spread around?

    Ughh...

Of course, Paramus is about an hour from where I live. You know, I think I'm going to have to make some calls first thing tomorrow. Appalling. If you're going to go after a product, at least have your facts in order.

Why did they have to take an undercover video? Surely they would have been given permission to tape, providing they were doing real news and not shoddy reporting...

    True dat.

If I go to the mall, and some scumbag reporter was doing "undercover videos" and has his undercover camera in my face, you can be rest assured someones skull is gonna get cracked. Now that may make national news.. Personally, I like my life like my sex life. UN-violated.

Sadly though, if it bleeds, it leads. That's the way "news" is heading. You never know when you're being taped by these jackasses.

I just shot off an e-mail as well. Not a happy e-mail either. I will not tolerate this crap.

That was the worst reporting I have ever witnessed. Did you take time to gather facts? No you did not. I have included a link that took me all of 5 minutes to find on the uses of Propylene glycol as well as antifreeze. (not proprelene glycol which you misspelled on your website.) But since you did not gather facts I doubt you will even bother to click the link. You are not interested in reporting because that was propaganda. Get your facts straight.

From an article in the Paramus Post: "Albert J. Ferrara, Jr., Coordinator of the Bergen County Community Partnerships for a Tobacco-Free New Jersey, is from Bergen County Department of Health Services." Ferrara's agenda is clear. I'm sure he knows what PG really is. When you check the Freeholder's Facebook page, his agenda is clear too - his supporters are hating on the ecigs.

Unfortunately I doubt if there will be Jeb. The best part is that nicotine inhalers are actually legal, and endorsed by the FDA, along with Chantix which has caused several documented deaths. But its made by Pfizer, so FDA jerks are making extreme cash. If anyone wants to help send me a PM, I'm a university student and several of us are going to start performing clinical trials through the labs where I attend so sign on up!!
