"They found e-cigarettes contain proprelyne glycol which is basically the chemical used to make the smoke in this product," said Albert J. Ferrara of the New Jersey Health Department. "We don't know how serious that could be, but, again, it is an ingredient used in antifreeze in our cars and that doesn't sound healthy to any of us."
Seriously? Why didn't you call him on this comment?? He's talking about ETHYLENE glycol. Propylene glycol is a FOOD base. It's a main ingredient in McCormick Imitation Vanilla flavoring - PRODUCT INGREDIENTS:
WATER, PROPYLENE GLYCOL, ALCOHOL (16%), VANILLA EXTRACT, VANILLIN, CARAMEL COLOR, AND NATURAL FLAVOR. (

This is a common scare tactic and just plain sloppy reporting. The lives of the THOUSANDS of ex-smokers who use these devices depend on responsible reporting. If these are banned, these people will return to tobacco cigarettes and a guaranteed death sentence. Electronic cigarettes may not be 100% safe, but they are "reduced harm" compared to tobacco cigarettes.
If you really want a good story, why not do a piece based on why the
FDA REALLY wants this product removed from the market and all of the misinformation being spread around?
