That would be me Deschain, as I feel that this is the best site for people to do their own research on e-cigs. I have only been vaping one month, but have learned so MUCH from this great group! Thanks to all--

they seriously asked for feedback from users then deleted their comments when they weren't the kinds of responses ("omg e-cigarettes ruined my life I feel like my lungs are exploding with antifreeze ingredients") that they wanted?

The word you're looking for is "scary". The media will do their best to keep you scared, because if something is scary, your natural impulse it to want to know more about it.

Let me give you an example:

    1) "And in the news tonight: It would seem that a hitherto unknown man is roaming the streets handing out free candy and sodas to passers-by. Stay tuned, as we have more on that story after the commercials"

    2) "And in the news tonight: It would seem that a hitherto unknown man is roaming the streets attacking passers-by with a machete. Stay tuned, as we have more on that story after the commercials"

Which one of those two stories will get people to keep watching?

Hence the fact that we're made to be afraid of EVERYTHING. Case in point, how many of you found the man handing out candy to be scary, when, really, you had absolutely no reason to?

Yup - monstrously one-sided. gets an instant bad rap because of the association with cigarettes. There are plenty of new drugs that are called "promising" and with the available information e-cigs definitely could and should fall into that category.
I would like to see a clinical trial to see the effectiveness of e-cigs, and of course the medical research is a common wish round here.
