LOL, I was thinking the same thing. Plus, maybe it's the way the website made it look so mysterious but this thing looks so cool.

A Ploom Pod usually lasts from five to ten minutes, but like chewing gum it is up to the you to determine when the flavor is gone. There is no signal or "end" when using your Ploom Pod
Edit: 12x 10 minutes = 2 hours, so 6$ every 2 hours is not cheap, more expensive than regular cigarettes.
This seems like it could get expensive, however if you can refill em with e-liquid then it wouldn't be too bad.
Ahhh, I see what you're saying now blade... Yeah, too expensive for me!

I think the key here is lies in their use of PG. I think it is generally accepted that vaporizing is much less harmful than smoking. There have been several studies on this, I believe, although most have been done focusing on the medical ........ rather than tobacco but the same principles apply.
Vaporizing devices are readily available, legal, and without the controversy we are experiencing with e-cigs. This is likely due to the portability of the devices, similarity in appearance to analogs, but mostly the introduction of inhaling PG or VG as a base for the nicotine.
This device uses actual tobacco as well as PG. This blurs the line between the e-cig and the devices that have been on the market without scrutiny for years prior to the e-cig's invention. While the Ploom device may not be a cheaper alternative it is one that could help the greater cause and show that e-cigs are very much a safer alternative to traditional tobacco cigarettes in the public eye.
Its easier to get to C from B than it is to get to C from A, so to speak.

Yes, these are interesting devices. I wonder if after you use up the pod, you could soak it with e-liquid and keep going.

It does look cool but definitely seems like it would get way to expensive if not refillable.
From what's on the site that others have shown that it is $6/12 pods and each pod lasts 5 - 10 minutes then figure even if I went back to my smoking habits of 2 cigs(pods)/hour minimum then thats 12 pods every 6 hours which for me in a normal days length would mean 36 pods/day which equals $18/day. No thanks.

butane in your vapor?
Since it releases butane to heat the atomizer, wouldn't you also be inhaling butane? I have no idea about the toxicity of butane gas in the lungs, but I'd bet the farm its worse for your body than the battery e-cigs we all use right now. If it could be proven to me that we don't actually ingest any butane AND we could refill this thing with our own e-liquid then I bet it could actually be better than a big battery mod because the potential energy in the butane plus the ability to easily refill it could make it the new prime e-cig.
