Ploom - Website reveals more info
I, like many of you who signed up out of curiosity, got an email today announcing the launch of the new Ploom website. I found this little gem of information on their website regarding their 'pods':
Ploom Pods are single-serving tobacco and non-tobacco capsules...
In order to vaporize our flavor blends,
we add glycerin and propylene glycol because they form a pleasing vapor when gently heated...

Hmm, forgot about that one. Appears to be a miniature Iolite in some ways. Each pod is good for 5 minutes or so?

Also this:
...the device was not designed to handle any raw tobacco or other items.
Initially it was believed that those pods contained actual tobacco, but this statement says otherwise. Could it be possible that what is in the pod is exactly what we are using now, or a gel version? I think so. If they use the same e-liquid we use, I bet we can refill those little pods, too

interesting, i like the look of it but the whole pods thing seems less than desireable. not enough flavors and to me it seems like it would be rather expensive

any company who names one of their flavors "kick-ass mint" deserves my attention at the very least.

All of our tobacco blends start with the finest grade of Bright Virginia tobacco leaf, grown and cured here in the U.S. The leaf is combined with other premium ingredients in our own custom blending process. We never use expanded or reconstituted tobacco, or other fillers. The result is the purest, highest quality tobacco experience possible.

Did anyone notice that you need a can of butane to make it work?

I must say, the design is absolutely gorgeous and I LOVE how they went with "non-child friendly" names for their "flavors". Pro-activeness at is best. I can't wait to try one and see what it is like!
