I think it would really help if as many vapers as possible would submit something for RatInDaHat's documentary. Getting that out could help inform the public. From my understanding he's had very few submissions. We need some positive media attention...

If you just spoke prophecy, I will hunt you down and poke you in the eye with a sharp stick. this is the exact attitude that will lead to the downfall of puffing electric. Be positive, be proactive. Do not go gentle into that still night, rage RAGE against the dying of the light!

People can't sit back and expect the suppliers and manufacturers to take care of everything. These people need to hear from people who can vote one way or another!

On top of contacting government officials we need to starting reaching out to the media. I didn't even know e cigs existed until I was approach by a MLM ( Multi level marketing ) company that is selling them. Thankfully I didn't get involved with them...but, if we get the media involved just think of all of the current smokers that will get turned on to them!
I'm already emailing TV and radio in my area to get the awareness raised.
Obama needs to get one too. He got to keep his blackberry! Where's my phone...

We really need to evangelize these things. We need the market to hit critical mass to bring the really big money on board along with all the vested interests that go along with it.
The best thing we can do is spread the word.

A site with tips on how to write an official, format to use and general tips for not sounding like a total tool:
http://home.earthlink.net/~dawwn/lobbying.htm
Excerpt from said site:
The letter is the most popular choice of communication with a legislative or congressional office. If you decide to write a letter, this list of helpful suggestions will improve the effectiveness of the letter.
- Your purpose for writing should be stated in the first sentence of the letter. If the letter pertains to a specific piece of legislation, identify it accordingly, e.g., House bill: H.R. _____, Senate Bill: S. _____. (for bill numbers try Thomas The Library of Congress to search with words or phrases or details of a bill number you may know).
- Be courteous, to the point, and include key information, using examples to support your position. State reasons for your position. Tell how the issue affects you and your community.
- Address only one issue in each letter; and, if possible, keep the letter to one page.
- Make sure your letter is timely. Write when legislation is pending in committee.

there should be a sticky with all the contacting legislation info somewhere just so everyone could find it easier.
