I liked the last line.

It has the potential to save literally millions of lives. In fact the WHO's own numbers shows that cigarettes will kill 1.2 billion people this century. Let's hope common sense, in the end, prevails.

I wonder if this is why so many companies are out of cigs and seemingly not able to replenish. Hopefully, the FDA does not deem itself God and Ruler of the U.S. and put an end to the e-cigs all together. If they want to implement regulations to make them safer, then fine (safer in the sense that if a child, or ....., gets their hands on them they will be less likely to hurt themselves). But otherwise, this is working for us! Do not take it away dammit!

I actually see deeper/evil reasons for FDA/US step-in... The fear or losing tobacco tax revenue and having to pay out more social security to people who would have succumbed to tobacco death earlier...

How this guy maintains his position as CEO while spouting so many unsubstantiated claims and "Promises". He has to be one of the worst representatives of the e-cig. community...
"Our product is comparable to the nicotine patch except people still get the oral fixation, which they love," explained Elicko Taieb, CEO of Smoking Everywhere..... Translation: Our product is a new smoking cessation device which is squarely under the jurisdiction of the FDA!
When will these manufacturers get a clue that this Marketing strategy, without solid clinical data to back it up, is ensuring that future US distribution of their products is highly unlikely.

"Smoking Everywhere is "pretty sure" the product is safe, based on laboratory testing in Europe, Taieb said. The company declined a CNN request to review safety reports....OMG!!! "Pretty sure"?!?! Duct tape this guys mouth shut already!!!

"There are no ingredients in our e-cigs that can cause cancer. However, it is a pretty new product, so we are not 100 percent sure of the side effects at this point," Taieb said. "But we haven't heard of any negative side effects yet, but we are pretty sure they are safe." ...Just incredible how inept Mr.Taieb is as a corporate spokesman!

As someone who has worked under FDA, ATF, DEA and DOT regulatory control for over 25 years in the Fine Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries, I can say that the future likelihood for e-cig distribution in the US is very unlikely if it is dependant on the likes of Mr.Taieb to carry the day.

We can only hope that the FDA does not group all similar devices, from all manufacturers together, and base their decisions on the irresponsible claims of a few poorly managed companies.

LOL Travis.... Maybe if we are very lucky the FDA will not lump all manufacturers together, but determine their (FDA) regulatory responsibility on a case by case basis.
However, I really doubt that any e-liquids will be able to avoid FDA oversight regardless of the individual Manufactures claims, marketing or labeling.
Is anyone aware of a domestic maker of e-liquid that is already setup and following cGMP guidelines?
