Exclamation Forum Rules - All new users must read before posting

.
General
  • Firstly a general rule of thumb: If you think that a post may cause eyebrows to be raised by the forum moderators, don't post it!
  • Please try to put your topics in the appropriate forums - it's nice to have the place organized!
  • Please don't use offensive language. Some people really hate it, and this forum is for everyone.
  • If you are an e-cigarette seller, you must email us via the site Contact Form (the link is at the foot of the page) and read the 'supplier' section below.
  • Do not make any posts promoting any products other than e-cigarettes in any of the forums. This includes, but is not limited to, tobacco products. Those doing so will be banned without warning and the posts deleted swiftly.
  • Please do not discuss the use of any substances other than nicotine and those related to e-smoking. Any posts made on using the e-cigarette as a means of ingesting other materials will constitute a major violation of the forum rules, and the user will be banned.

Writing reviews

  • Registered users will be added to the "full members" group after they have made 10 posts and been active on the forum for a set period of time. Only members of this group may post new threads in the review forum. This is to prevent e-cigarette suppliers coming on and mud-slinging against their competitors or writing excessively favorable reviews of their own products.
  • Please feel free to write reviews of e-cigarette products, but try to write a decent and informative piece. We've already had posts saying things like "this is the best e-cigarette - loads of smoke - better than cigarettes", which is just pointless. Try to put some detail in: tell people about the quality, give descriptions of the materials, put some photos up.
  • Rubbish reviews will just get moved to the general discussion forum or, if they are spammy, deleted.

Suppliers etc

We want to keep the forums clear of spam and self-promotion so.......
  • All e-cigarette suppliers/affiliates/manufacturers etc must get in touch with us via the Contact Us link below AND RECEIVE AN ACKNOWLEDGEMENT before they start posting.
  • They may request their website to be added to the suppliers list that is maintained in the suppliers forum
  • They may not post in the review section, or make any posts which reference their own products, except in the suppliers forum.
  • However, suppliers may put one link to their product/website in their signature line and are free to contribute to any discussion providing they follow the above rules.
  • Suppliers must NOT use the tag system.

Tags and Tagging

Members are encouraged to use tags to help get new visitors to relevant posts. The only rules are:
1. Suppliers must not use tags
2. Users must not tag posts with their own usernames
.

Hey SJ,

A few members had a question about this rule.

"Do not make any posts promoting any products other than e-cigarettes in any of the forums. Those doing so will be banned without warning and the posts deleted swiftly."

Could you expand and clarify?

thanks,
-Dusty-

Sure thing - We have had a number of posts from people coming on the board and posting links to cheap cigarettes and the like.

I wanted to be pretty firm that if people do this they will be banned without warning.

Default Wicked

Does anyone know if Wicked components are compatible with NJoy NPro specifically the batteries, atomizers and empty carts.
I am looking at their Electronic Cigarette Batteries Super 10cm, Electronic Cigarette Atomizer (Atomiser) for brown mouth piece and Refillable Electronic Cigarette Cartridges - Super 10cm.
Thanks,
Zuukz

Default Fairly new user Forum frustrations

I've been commenting on this forum and asking questions for a couple of months now, and I've noticed a few things: I can't find anywhere any instructions on how to get the special "i've not smoked since mmddyy and save $$" box to automatically appear at the end of my posts, I did figure out how to generate the html code, but if I enter the code manually I get "you haven't posted enough to reference outside urls". Haven't I hit 15 uses yet???? Why 15?? Why should it matter how many times I've posted if I want that as part of my personal profile?? Very annoying. It seems really easy to get lost in this forum especially if you try to remember where you put your last comment, and it's difficult to backward navigate especially if you edit your own profile. There seems to be no "main" or "home" tab that I can figure out. I'm pretty techy, but I feel like I'm stumbling around in here. It's annoying to type a really long reply or comment about a service or product then get a "temporarily not available" error when trying to submit and losing everything that you just typed (that's happend 3 times to me today already), or get a message that you aren't authorized to reply or you aren't allowed to post here, etc. Tell me that before I spend 20 minutes typing! I also see that the forum also suffers from a common thing that many other forums have - really bad headers on individual comments so you have no idea what the comment or question is about without reading it. Hey other users: headers like "help me please!" are really ineffective especially in a list of hundreds of posts! Try something more descriptive like "need help repairing xxx " to give other users some type of hint what the post is about when scanning down a list of hundreds of posts. It would also be nice to have a list of e-cig slang somewhere for those of us that are new or just aren't that "cool" It took me a while to figure out some of the slang. I also have noticed some threads in what I would consider the wrong place, but there is no really right place that I can see and no one seems to have permission to creat a new thread.... I would like to post my experience using a vendor from China (it was a good experience) but the vendor isn't in the vendor list and there doesn't seem to be any other place to put the info and I'm not authorized to create new thread. Sigh. I would like to see a place for nothing but comments and tips on cleaning atomizers by type, but again I can't start a new thread so I've been trying to dig through lots of usage tips that end up being about things that I'm not interested in (the old relevent header comments mentioned above really would help here). The search option seems to be useless. I hope that these comments are taken as something good to consider for whatever powers that be and not as flaming. I love the forum and want it to get better and better and I figured that if I'm having this much trouble (as a techy) then some users must REALLY be having a hard time figuring this out! Crap!! I just got "you do not have permission to perform this action. Please refresh the page and login before trying again" when I hit "submit reply". I AM logged in. VERY FRUSTRATING!!! This time I'm copy this so I can paste if I have to start over again, which I DID!!!
