kate your are correct with the wiccan rede in it simplist form means if it is the lesser of two harms do what the must if it harms not do what the will but there is always karma in any choice. and you bear the burden of it hen it is your decision and sorry i have not been by lately might have to see if i still have my deck to post some piccs for ya long form one version at least (Hear Now the words of the witches, The secrets we hid in the night, When dark was our destiny's pathway, That now we bring forth into light. Mysterious water and fire, The earth and the wide-ranging air, By hidden quintessence we know them, And will keep silent and dare. The birth and rebirth of all nature, The passing of winter and spring, We share with the life universal Rejoice in the magical ring. Four times in the year the Great Sabbat Returns, and the witches are seen At Lammas and Candlemas dancing, On May Eve and old Hallowe'en. When day-time and night-time are equal, When sun is at greatest and least, The four Lesser Sabbats are summoned, And Witches gather in feast Thirteen silver moons in a year are, Thirteen is the coven's array. Thirteen times at Esbast make merry, For each golden year and day The power that was passed down the age, Each time between woman and man, Each century unto the other, Ere time and the ages began. When drawn is the magical circle, By sword or athame of power, Its compass between two worlds lies, In land of the shades for the hour. This world has no right then to know it, And world of beyond will tell naught. The oldest of Gods are invoked there, The Greatest of magic is wrought. For the two are mystical pillars, that stand at the gates of the shrine, And two are the powers of nature, The forms and the force divine. The dark and the light in succession, The opposites each unto each, Shown forth as a God and a Goddess: Of this our ancestors teach. By night he's the wild wind's rider The Horn'd One, the King of the Woodland The dweller in green forest glades. She is youthful or old as she pleases, She sails the torn clouds in her barque, The bright silver lady of midnight, The crone who weaves spells in the dark. The master and mistress of magic, That dwell in the deeps of the mind, Immortal and ever-renewing, with power to free or to bind. And Do What You Will be the challenge, So be it love that harms none, For this is the only commandment By Magic of old, be it done! (long form off) |

I have know lots of people that wanted their cards read, but few that could read them. That is why I put mine up, got tried of read everyone's cards.

You would be surprised. There are some large tarot forums on yahoo. In my experience it's regional as far as acceptance. In certain parts of the bible belt people would tell me I was evil for using them but then would approach me privately for readings. ![]() I used to carry mine on the Bart in SF and people would approach me for readings. |

Bigeyes, I live in the bible belt, I have live where it is more dogmatic and more of them. They still wanted their cards read on the quite. Could not get them to understand that it was guidance and not made in stone.

Can you tell us about what The High Priestess means in your deck Mage? What about you Taz, what do you know about this symbol? Could you tell us what she means BigEyes? Is there any music, pictures or other art that you link with this symbol, does it have any meaning in your life? To me The High Priest/ess is a bit like a librarian, we can ask for references, s/he knows how to get beyond the veil of ignorance but s/he is not a teacher, more a guardian. S/he can help us with our journey but won't make it happen for us, we have to participate and experience or there is no self-realisation. S/he's not a manifestation of the initial form of the word but has learned how to unravel its mystery. Quote:
![]() S/he might say this to us: Quote:
![]() The Priest/ess can show us the book but it's up to us to decipher the meaning, recover the keys and understand the symbols so that we can complete the journey. S/he can give us hints but not spoilers. S/he guards the secrets of The Wholey Technofoggers (and knows the recipe for Wholey Ambrosia eliquid ).Don't take her too seriously and remember that all the world's a stage. ![]() Follow the Yellow Brick Road.

They were also the same people who wanted to tell me what my beliefs were all the time.

taz3cat: In response to your post #30, I am not trying to start a pissing match but... On page 1, post #3, paragraph 4 kate says: "I'm not going to randomly describe cards, I'm going to take them in order (or what's thought to be a correct order) and try to see if a path opens here or if it's not possible in this format. The story part was written by P.D.Ouspensky. I'm not going to post a link to the full story just yet unless anyone asks for a spoiler." Just wanted to point that out. Thanks |

What I meant by that Alpha was that I wasn't going to choose cards randomly but would follow a sequence from a description I've come across. That sequence is not numerical order.

The high priestess has many meanings depending upon the situation. She can represent someone who is lying or keeping a secret, celibacy, women who exist without men, esoteric knowledge, looking within for answers, psychological insight, discovering hidden abilities or talents. It's a sign you need to listen to your gut. here's a good breakdown, imo. THe High Priestess |
