I love this discussion! Out of all, I think there are only a handful that I have never seen live. As a guitarist I HAVE to respect them ALL.

I've seen Hendrix (Experience), Clapton (Bluesbreakers and Cream) - both awesome.

Saw Page (Led Zepp 2 period) - less impressed

Saw Zappa several times - awesome

But of those I've seen live I'd go for Jerry Garcia

Best ever? Got to be Robert Johnson
