Default Snow is a four letter word.

It's back. At least here in Iowa it is. I always wondered how crazy the original settlers must have been to want to stay here. Waiting for global warming to stop all this cold nonsense.

LUCKY!!! I wish I lived in the snow. Los Angeles definitely takes its toll. Heat of 90/100+ degrees at least 8-9 months out of the year in the valley can be brutal.

Traffic, weather, and the people = 3 reasons not to live in Los Angeles ... *nough said* ... Although, people here love it, I seem to be one of the rare people that don't.

The only people that live in my area of Florida and complain about the weather are the ones that have lived here for a while. Around here it's generally 90-100 in the summer, 60-90 in the spring and fall, and 30-60 in the winter.

It seems everyone here either complains of it being too hot or too cold... no one's ever satisfied or enjoying the weather. I personally love it... especially in the fall when the air is particularly dry and about 60-65 degrees. That's my favorite weather.

During the winter we get tons of people coming in from up north and they think it's warm. It's not odd to see hundreds of pale white tourists at the beach and in the water in the middle of winter. Well... on that note... since Bush's second term all tourism here has been greatly dwindling... We only had a handful of bikers here for Octoberfest... compared to four years ago when it was generally impossible to drive anywhere due to traffic... and all of the hotels were full. Oh well... maybe it'll perk up next year.

Posting about the weather on a UK forum, now there's a thread that could go on for some time!
The winters definitely seem to have been getting milder here the last few years - not sure if its global warming, or just the earths natural cycles... it's probably just packed up and moved over to Iowa for a few decades!

All my elderly neighbors migrate to Florida in the winter. We call it "God's Waiting Room".

I don't mind snow so much as the ice. We had a heck of an ice storm in 2005. It looked like the town had been bombed. Some folks were out of power for weeks. It was a bonanza for the tree trimmers, for it took several months to clean up the mess.

I know all about ice....we get plenty of it here. As a matter of fact...we'll be getting more today.

Meanwhile, down in God's Waiting Room, the dog and I soaked up vitamin D from ultraviolet rays on this 80-degree afternoon while I downed a fruit smoothie and puffed on my e-cig with its tasty RY4 juice.

They also call this place "paradise" about this time of year.
