Default Great American Vapeout Day

So today is the Great American Smokeout Day. I remember how I used to hate this day, since I had no intention of not smoking my daily allotment. Now, it's just another day. But wait .. do you think 20 years from now, we'll read a story about The Great American Vapeout Day?

***

Citizens to Protect Children At All costs says the outrageous vaping habit must be stopped and asks vapers to abstrain from vaping for just one day, today, and donate saved monies to the Save Whatever Whales Remain fund.

"There is a horrible environmental cost," said the leader of the Recycle Everything movement. "Think of all the dead atomizers piling up in landfills across this great nation, from sea to polluted sea. Trog alone disposes of more batteries than some Third World nations."

E-smokers contacted by Times Online were adament that they intend to continue their "safe" addiction in pubs and bars and hospital nursery rooms. "Hey, we put up with a lot of crap before we switched to e-cigs," one said. "I'm vaping today whether anyone likes it or not."

Sponsors of today's Vapeout plan a march on Washington to protest the lack of punitive taxes on vaping paraphenalia. "You remember tobacco products," one leader said. "We're gonna do the same to e-cigarettes."

Great stuff, Bob. The trouble is that the Church of Priggishness will by then be ruling the world. All forms of pleasure (yes, all) will be forbidden or taxed. We used to have a chap over here called Cromwell who banned things like dancing and Christmas celebrations. We got rid of him and brought our king back...ah yes...might not meet with universal approval, that...

Too funny TBob, but one day it will happen and someone will have to invent something totally different, something that does not resemble an e-cig - LOL...

Looking still further ahead, post cataclysm, the newly barbaric peoples of the few islands remaining above water may be reduced to taking leaves, rolling them up, setting fire to them and inhaling the smoke. How comical that would be...
