First Bad Experience may be my last

I have no problem whatsoever heaping praise on MadVapes for the excellent shipping and customer service I have received in the past. Today, that is not happening.

I placed an order from you since I was in need of cartos. At the same time I ordered liquid and was quite happy since this was one of the first times that I saw that you had Turkish Blend available. As usual, shipping was first rate. The problem was with the juice.

I ordered two bottles, Menthol and Turkish. On opening the package I noticed that the color of the Turkish was different than what I have come to expect in the past. Instead of any shade of light amber it was almost orange. I understand that sometimes shades can vary, so I gave it a try. Upon filling my first carto, and inhaling, I was overcome by a strong gag reflex. I don't know what is in this bottle but it is definitely not Turkish, nor is it any 'flavor' fit for human consumption. What was in my bottle tasted like a strong checmical, the closest thing I can come to is antibacterial dishwashing liquid. Completely ruined the carto as there is nothing that can overcome the horrid taste.

I contacted Hoog and let him know about the experience and was offered 5 dollars off. Excuse me? The reason being that not everyone likes everything. Oh how I know that! If it was a case of not liking it, it would go in my 'In case of emergency' vape box. This is not the issue. The fact of the matter is that this is so foul that I am not even sure that what is in the bottle is anything that SHOULD be vaped. I have a whole box of things that I have ordered that don't do it for me, among them, several of MadVapes liquids (Kaluha Coffee, Spearmint), however, they are close enough to what they are supposed to be that I figure it is me and not them. This however tastes like juice that had gone bad. Just like any other consumer, when a merchant sells me something that has gone bad, I expect that to be made right. Of all vendors, my experience with MadVapes has led me to believe that this is not too much to expect.

The response from Mad almost leads me to believe that whatever is in this bottle was known ahead of time and it was juice that they were trying to get rid of. I am not new to vaping and Turkish Blend is one of my main staples. I know what it is NOT supposed to taste like. Heck unless the label said Dawn or Ajax, no juice should taste like that. Part of me wants to send it to a lab or the FDA for analysis. We all know that this is a relatively new industry but no one wants to be poisoned or made ill because someone did not mix something correctly or God forbid, someone used something that was never intended for human comsumption to save on production costs, or machine oil contaminated the batch. I have no problem with strong or harsh tastes. I am one of the few who actually enjoy vaping a new atty and the harsh primer taste, but this is too foul even for me.

To say I am disappointed is putting the facts of the matter too mildly. My latest attempts to explain that this is not acceptable and that there is something seriously wrong with the juice have gone completely unanswered.

I just ordered a bottle of Fried Apple from him and it also has a very strong chemical taste to it. It also made me gag and it took me cleaning my atty and putting another very strong flavor over it to finally get rid of the taste. Ugh, I wanted to barf. It's good to know I'm not the only one experiencing this.

Well I was going to say maybe your carto hadn't soaked all the way to the center, but if someone had it happen with an atty, that's different. I get a VERY strong chemical taste if I don't let a first time filled carto sit for a while before use.

im sure if he had more than a single person complaining he would look into it. i cant imagine Hoogie going throw all his stock and test try all his flavors on a daily bases for changes or whatever. what tastes horrible to me might be of your liking or somebody elses.

There's a difference between flavor tasting "different" from time to time and it being so off tasting that it is making you gag. Just saying...

Hoogie is great! and it takes time to build a a good reputation. than someone complains and all of a sudden everybody wants to jump in and ruin all that hard work.

It is VERY possible that it could be me. That's why I haven't contacted Hoogie about this at all. I am going to be sending a sample to someone I know who loves the Fried Apple to they can compare and tell me if that's what it's supposed to taste like or not.

I'm just really surprised because when reading reviews, I can usually taste all of the flavors people mention, whether or not I like those flavors is another story. With the Fried Apple, people mention tasting the apple, the cinnamon and a bready type taste. I taste none of that. ALL I taste is chemical and nothing else. I've never run into that before with any other juice.

I am direct dripping on a 3.7 volt device with LR atty. I can usually really distinguish the different flavors with this set-up. With this stuff I can't.

Again, I fully aware that this could be just me and that's why I'm going to have someone that loves the Fried Apple try it out and give me their opinion.

I'd also like to add that I will happily mail a sample to someone here as well that knows the Fried Apple well so that they can tell me if they think it's bad or not. I really WANT it to be bad so that I know I just got an off batch and I can try again later and get the flavor everyone is raving about. If it's not bad and that's what it supposed to taste like, then I will happily retract my statements and chalk it up to it not being my preference.
