I take back what I said about Smoker's Option. I just reopened my Menthol pack after not touching it for awhile (it was full) and the taste was very clear and strong. It wasn't as strong as an ecig but you could definitely taste it. Then again, I'm not a menthol smoker so. I think what happened with my cinnamon is that I'd opened it and used alot of them so when I closed it again, there was room for air to get in and the cigs went flat. I still think they're a bit less strong when fresh but it's worth noting incase anyone wanted to try these.

While I was looking at the cigamint page, it occurred to me that I should try modding my Ezquit before buying anything else. I have several bottles of different essential oils that I can try dripping onto the EZquit's paper insert. If I can get enough oils in there, it might give the device a decent throat hit. I'll post my findings later this evening. |

Hey, that sounds really neat! I could probably moisten a cotton swab with an oil, rub it on the paper and do it that way so I don't have to worry about drops. Does it use a special paper or can it be substituted if necessary? I'm assuming that since you have all these oils, you know what's edible/safe and what's not but in good conscience, I must tell you to be careful. That's actually something I need to look up. I wonder if a small dropper or the cotton trick would work in the Cigamints? I doubt any mint could ever be as strong as the amazing pouches from mintsnuff.com. They're great on their own or in coffee. Quote:

Alrighty, well closer examination revealed that the insert for the Ezquit is actually a short piece of straw with a spongy material in it. That's not a very efficient setup, as there isn't a lot of surface area, but I can see the flavor lasting a long time. Just a couple drops of peppermint essential oil and the sponge was leaking out the bottom. The flavor was pretty much the same thing, so that's likely the main ingredient in the mint Ezquit. After some puffing that didn't offer much throat hit (but did freshen my breath) I went for the cassia oil. Not being a big fan of cinnamon, I went ahead and just dropped two drops of cassia oil onto the peppermint sponge. It actually made a pretty decent cinnamint taste, though still not what I was hoping for. Next flavor up was the dreaded clove bud oil. Clove bud is like a dirty mint. I would say minty dusty old attic flavor. With that in on top of the cinnamint and me puffing away like crazy, my mouth and nostrils were totally iced. I still had to take some pretty long hits to get any appreciable sensation of a hit, so it's not what I was hoping for but not terrible considering the lack of technology involved. I tried an orange and a grapefruit oil, but they were both more like the flavor of citrus peelings, which wasn't all that great. After ten minutes or so, I was getting excess oil spattering out onto my tongue. With essential oils, that's considered a bad thing to do, cuz it's too concentrated. It actually numbed my tongue and had me rinsing for a few minutes. It may be that the shortage of internal surface area holds the Ezquit back a bit. On the plus side, I don't think I'll ever have to buy refills for it, because the liquid is almost certainly peppermint or cassia essential oils. The other useful info I gleaned was that with this type of simple device, there is no point to drawing with just your mouth. If you just do straight up lung draws, the mint hitting the back of your throat will give the sensation of a hit after a few seconds. I might try to find a better means of holding the juice in the tube, the best result would come from more juice getting more air passing over it. Sorry so long, but I wanted to give a basic rundown of the essential oil experience. |

With some work on the liquid, something this simple could conceivably be useful. (I'm kind of thinking of something to ween me off of ecigs in the future :-)) | |

Thanks so much for posting this and definitely don't worry about it being long. This kind of review is exactly what I'm seeking and your descriptions were excellent. So it seems that I'd need to be very careful when doing this. Also, I've heard it's not really good to injest too much mint or menthol, so I usually don't play with those. Might be worth a try, though, if I can find something to use that doesn't have oil on it and if I can get sighted assistance. Quote:

The only one I've tried so far was the EndIt Inhalers and those were terrible. they are flat, as you described, which also took some of the fun away for me. I'm seriously thinking of the Ciganot (also called Krafe Away). I did alot of searching and finally found some user descriptions. Some say it's horrible but one person said it had a sweet bbq taste to it. I certainly don't expect the level of taste or quality you get with an ecig but it should prove interesting. Hope that one's not flat and not like the Endit. Quote:

I forgot to add that the Nirdosh don't appear to be smokeless, so they're out of the picture for those seeking a smokeless cig. I'm a big believer in naturopathy (science-based natural medicine) but these guys make alot of claims that make me a big suspicious. Still, they're cheap if someone wants an herbal smoke. As for the Cigastop, as I said, it contains caffeine. I'm not sure if it's an active ingredient or if it just comes from having a coffee flavouring. It's made by Honeyrose, a brand that's been making regular herbal cigarettes for a few decades, so they're in good standing. I can also vouge for their high quality, having smoked them. So if caffeine isn't an issue, you could check out their smokeless option.
