Quick question, has anyone used a "herbal" vaporiser for tobacco alone? I was just wondering if they work. If they reach a sufficient temperature to release the nicotine content of loose tobacco, but without burning it. I'm referring to devices like this Vaporisers - Herb Vaporizers Online Shop Wondering if it could be a fallback if there is an e-cig ban in the UK... Cheers

The problem is that those devices are designd to vaporise THC at 185 degress C, while nicotine vaporises at 140 degrees. Some are temperature controlled, but do not go down that low. Additionally, when these are used for their original purpose, they only vaporise THC, as illegaly produced plants have no additives that vaporise below 185 degrees. Tobacco from cigarettes and rolling pouches is full of additives which could vaporise at 140 degrees. In theory, you could make grow your own tobacco, make a crude nicotine extract, and use it in a vaporiser at 140 if it existed, or build your own. It would be no alternative to e-cigarettes. |
