    Default My DIY - DSE901 - MAGNUM POWER

    Been wanting more power - and Wanted it portable
    Here is my results. Yeah it kinda looks like a screwdriver.

    If anyone is interested - I can make another and post the assembly in a slideshow video or pics or you can PM me and I will talk you thru it.

    Power is supplied by 2 - CR2 800mah Rechargable Li-ion bought on Deal Extreme

    Charger

    $5.66

    Case is a Flashlight from Harbor Freight
    Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices
    On Sale in Store for $3.97 (Yeah you get two)

    One DEAD Battery or New if you Cant Wait.
    $0 - $15

    One Tactile Switch
    $0 - Junk Box - OLD VCR

    One Small chunck of 1/2 PVC Sch. 40 (Must be Sch. 40 - 600psi WILL NOT WORK ) $0 - Junk Box - Hardware Store


    Total Cost - (w/Spare Set of Batteries)
    $18.97

    Tools needed -
    Soldering Iron
    Hot Glue Gun
    Dead Atomizer - to disassemble the Battery (Makes it real easy)
    Small Hand Saw - I used my Leatherman tool
    Drill and Bits
    Flat Black Paint if you want the Face to look good.

    THE RESULTS -

    Assembled

    Light

    Disassembled

    Nah. Just a rip-off. 2.0 implies functional improvements.

    Rip off - TRUE - the highest form of flattery
    ( But most everything I do is "OPEN SOURCE"
    not trying to get RICH in this life)

    Did add these improvements (I believe) -

    Upped the voltage - Running the batteries in series for a total voltage of around 6.3 volts - (They drop off from full charge pretty rapidly) During use the run around 5.1 volts and are pulling 1.12 amps which is less than What an atomizer uses with a USB mod (It pulls around 1.34 amps Voltage is 5.1 volts w/USB mod off computer)
    OH the Vape is awesome!!!

    Added Visual feedback - Used LED out of Battery

    Added a main shutoff via Flashlight Switch
    Added BONUS

    Moved switch to a more ergonomic position
    More like a smoking a cig instead of the other stuff (Carb hole )
