Mecahincally Declined newbie seeks advice
Right, so I've been playing with e-cigs since April 2009 and still smoking 1-2 packs a day (down from 2-3 packs). I have a 901 and a GG Nano(uses a single 3.6 volt battery in an aluminum casing).
I like my 901. It's my pacifier at work--always in my mouth even if not puffing. But don't LOVE it--still smoking cigs...
Nano...eh, it's OK but too bulky, too heavy & button too senstive.
I was wondering if it may be possible to create something that is light & small like the 901 but delivers more power? I could go a little heavier--long as I can comfortably clamp it between my teeth.
I suppose it would be wise to start with the battery--does such a small & powerful battery exist?
I have at my "disposal" (ha ha) my dad who has been a machinist for about 30 years--though I am worried aluminum or brass will be too heavy--and my husband who is VERY mechainically inclined & has a mess of tools, gadgets in the garage.

ah....could you elaborate on that please?

You did not say if you wanted an automatic -cig like the 901 or a manual vaper like the Nano. Do you drip or use cartridges? Do you want more power than the 901?
Battery technology has yet to produce a super-powered cell small enough for what you request, particularly if you want to try and keep the basic cigarette shape and size. You are going to need to make some modifications to your wish list.
I would think the Nano is a near perfect size. Aside from the button issue, why was it not to your liking. Size, weight, balance...? My suggestions would have included the AdapteveR (coming soon) and Super T (coming soon), but I am thinking you might not like the weight, style or size.
If you like a manual switch that is similar to your 901, you could look at a 510 (Joye, Tecc Titan, etc). The real downside from what I have read is lousy battery life. Lots of 510 owners recommend buying a PCC (portable charger) to keep you vaping all day.

get a 510 ( I own 4 models and its my favorite) w/ a pcc charger b/c YES the battery life is horrible..

Perhaps a 510 on a passthrough, hooked to a battery box for portability. The passthrough makes the battery pack more remote - battery weight isn't dangling from your mouth, only the tube and the cord. Excess cord can be run through clothing to help keep it contained. Then your battery pack could have your power specifications.

I'd have said 510, but if going for a diy mod and looking for a strong taste, a twin atty mod would be something to consider; and rare. I'd suggest one battery for each atty.
One way or another though it is a matter of giving up size or battery life for power.
If you have two 901s, duck tape them together and see how you like it ...

I didn't want to go the 510 route because of the battery life I've heard of and also, batteries seem to be quite expensive.
Seriously? duct tape 2 901's together?
If no such battery exists, I guess I am out of luck. Manual or auto--wouldn't matter either way. Just wanting a smallish battery that packs a punch
Passthroughs are no good for me. I'm not tied in front of a computer all day, otherwise I would consider it. I am very blue collar, on my feet and literally running around all day with something in my hands.

Look at this one
As was mentioned above; give this one a look.

It would appear to meet your requirements as well as anything out there.
It's aluminum so the weight would probably be minimal and the battery used should provide good service.
It looks to be one of the best available for the size.

LOL 500K, i agree that is the best looking PV ever, but cmon!
You can not hold that in between your teeth, or a dual atty either kina.
I think your option whatagem would be a passthrough running form a USB power pack that way you will still have the same size weight to hold, but more lasting power, and if you use my RCA system, you can have even 6V in a power pack. (I am not selling anything, just giving you ideas of what you could use).
