Cheap $3 solderless mod
Forgot I had one of these and started to look at it. Would be ridiculously simple to make a solderless mod with a spring and detent for push activation. 3.7v solderless unless it is possibly to cram that boost circuit into there. No idea how big that thing is but I am thinking it would be too big.
emergency cell phone battery, great deals on Cell Phones PDAs, Electronics on eBay!
I'll be making mine soon enough....and plan to do it thusly...
1: Remove top clear cap and take out the circuitry. It is of no use due to 300ma charging current.
2: Widen the hole in top cap where the mini-jack plug currently is...should take all of a minute with a dremel or drill bit of appropriate size for atty adapter.
3: Use instructions for push switched activation found in other mods. I'd see if I could easily craft via non-conductive epoxy or jb-welb type substance a detent with a washer of some sort. I don't have a tap and die set to do it with nuts and washers.
4: Add a spring to allow a mild push activation against battery + end.
5: Vape and enjoy extended 510 battery life.

that looks like the flashlight the MAGNUM and DETONATOR are based on with a different top put on it to allow the plugging in of the cell adapter.
if you do get one of these i'd like to see pics of the circut board the LEDs and plug adapter are mounted to, just to see if they are the same

I think this is a lot smaller as it only takes a single AA. I have a couple waiting to be modded and there is very little room.
Are you going to use the washer for the ground. You will need something as the adaptor wont touch the metal shell if it's centred
I look forward to seeing how you get on with it
Good luck

It looks like the same flashlight I use- Interesting- I have been thinkiing of putting a cleal plastic cap on mine- showing the insides- Probly wouldn't be too strong though.
Make it! Show us!

I saw this the other day at a store.... it is very small and fits very well in the hand...If you make this please post instructions.

Yeah 3.7 volt no matter how long it last is just OK
That clear top looks cool - like the brain on an old robot

danger will robinson... DANGER...
i like the size... but i'm hooked on 6v now.

peaceofcake: Good job, exactly what I was after but thinking the button would be overkill if I could spring it and lock the adapter in somehow with a washer for a simple spring switch. But I'm liking the button better now having seen yours.
So just OK? I'll still take it, 900ma over the stock manual battery sounds better to me.

added battery time is always a good thing.
and i'm not trying to speak for anyone, but i believe what robert is saying is the same thing i was getting at....
once you hit that 5v or 6v level you will only go back down to 3.7v in HAVE-TO situtations...
