    Default Please Help

My charger died and I don't think I can go 3 days without vaping. I really don't want to go back to analogs. Is there any way to fix it or build some kind of mod that will charge a battery?

I wouldn't mind sacrificing one of my manual 902 batteries into a PT but I don't have a soldering iron.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    How To: Build a NicoStick
You'll have to buy a soldering iron and sacrifice your battery for the connection. Quickest easiest way I know of.. Make it with a 4 aaa or aa box instead and you can use regular batteries in it as you probably don't have 3.7 batteries lying around..
Planning ahead is necessary for the vaping habit...

If I bypass the circuit board inside the charger by cutting a USB cable and twisting the red wire to the center connector and the black to the outside post will that charge the battery? Will it harm it?

You mentioned 902s in your post. Is that your model? I have 510 chargers down here in Rockledge, and I can overnight you one (a loaner) if it will help. Let me know.

Yeah rocket, 902's. Thanks for the offer though. I rewired the charger and am trying that now. If that doesn't work I'll go buy a soldering iron tomorrow and try my hand at building a mod.

I hope you didn't just run straight usb wire to the connector, you'll explode your battery pretty damned quick that way.

Its not so much a 'better' way as that way will explode your battery - theres really no way to 'fix' that charger unless you can see a resistor or something on the PCB shorted and you can replace it. Your best bet is to make a passthrough, same concept, but use a battery connector and a switch and hook your atomizer up to it. This way you can just vape off of 5v USB and ignore batteries altogether until your new charger shows up, although chances are you won't want to go back to anything but 5v.

Thanks for the heads up. I really appreciate everyone's help. Do you know if I can salvage the switch in one of my 902 manual batteries for the passthrough?

I think theres a writeup around here somewhere for doing just that, but worst case scenario is a trip to radio shack and $4 in parts.
