    Default volcano/blu/sideshow power cable DIY

So my power cable for my sideshow just stopped working yesterday. I use it to charge my sideshow PCC and my Volcano PCC (I don't have a volcano cable). I'm looking around my office and I have extra USB cables all over the place. Does anyone know how to splice a USB cable to a sideshow/volcano/blu type charging cable? Is this a bad idea? Seems like a no-brainer but I've destroyed electronics in the passed thinking this. Any help/advice? I'd rather just solve my problem with the materials right in front of me than get more stuff and wait for it to arrive. Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't think it would be hard especially with a mutimeter, to wire it up. Just find out what the + and - wires in your usb cable are and use that. However, you might be able to get a universal wall wart and find the appropriate tip to connect to it. This would cost a bit more, but eliminate the headache.

I'm not sure about protection though. The PCC may not have a protection circuit built in and if not, the cable would have to handle that aspect. I don't know how to test for such a thing other than ripping apart the PCC and looking at the battery inside it or looking for a separate protection circuit in the PCC.

I have a Blu PCC myself and with the recent recall, and I would be leary of overcharging it and possibly causing it to catch fire (assuming yours has not been replaced yet).
