Have you had any issues with that style of momentary switch? I made this mod with (what appears to be) the same switch you've used and they keep failing on me. It feels like the inner workings of the switch are falling apart (if that makes sense).

Maybe I'm just too rough on em. Or I'm getting what I paid for since it's a 75 cent radio shack switch.

Nope, mine have been fine, mind you they've only been used occasionally for a week or so. If you do another one, don't press hard, it's bad for the little connectors inside

Cheese graters could also be marketed and sold as sponge ruiners. Think about it.

I bought those by accident at radio shack. I loved the button but I didn't realize they were "Normally Closed" So it provides power until you press it down. You want it to be "Normal Open"

I cant believe I didn't look at the package when I went there. I just sorta grabbed things cus I was like a kid in a candy store

lol, I did the exact same thing. I didn't notice the "NC" on that one and drove myself crazy until i looked at the package and realized my mistake. Fortunately all my other switches were NO switches so fixing that mistake was a quick process. Lesson learned! Oh and some switches at Radio Shack aren't labeled NC or NO so I just avoid those just to be on the safe side.

We also bought the wrong ones - NC without knowing there were 2 kinds - so it was constantly on and almost burned an atomizer in the process..the only way to vape was to use the on/off switch until we bought the right ones!
We've now changed the mod to using only 1 Lithium rechargeable 3.6V and thinking about using the extra compartments to store and recharge 2 other batts with a USB cable..but not there yet!
PS It works far better with the 1 Lithium rechargeable btw..than 3 1.2V NimH rechargeables..

I'm starting to like the lithium setup more as well. Lighter, more compact.

I found I got better results on a 3 battery setup with NiCD batteries, rather than NiMH, something to do with the NiCD being able to put out more current on high drain devices. I used to fix and service things like electric shavers and trimmers, small tools, etc, and the better performing ones always had NiCD batteries built in. They're getting hard to find though.

We're thinking of trying this setup with a 2 compartment AA box ( LaSource had them too). Would you know what kind of lithium rechargeable that had the longest longevity that would work in an AA box? It is so confusing when you don't know much about batteries!
(we bought the AAA Lithium from Battery junction.com for the mod you had..here Li-Ion Rechargeable Batteries)

Misty, the 14500 lithium battery is basically the same size as a AA. I like the thought of them because you can find protected ones at DX, they fit a standard size we can easily find hardware for here, and they have a reasonable mAh rating. I am still waiting for mine to arrive. I will keep you posted when they arrive.

    Nico!..perfect..that really makes it simple!
Do they also have some AA battery boxes or tactile switches since I might as well order all from the same place..although can get them here too..
    Again, thanks for the info..appreciate!
