Default Janty eGo - My big leap

I've been lurking for a bit and have really appreciated all of the information that is provided on this website, especially the comprehensive "Wonderful world of Vaping" by DonDaBoomVape.

So, I finally took the leap and just ordered a Janty eGo set with an additional 5 blank cartridges and a sampler pack of Tobacco flavored juices. It just looked like the right hardware for my needs after going through a lot of youtube reviews from members of this site. I'm a pack + a day Marlboro Red smoker (16 years) and I've tried everything to quit (and even succeeded for a good 5 month runs using NRT - patch - on multiple occasions.)

I plan to see what the eGo offers this week and then make the decision concerning if it is a device that I can use. At that point, I'll dig deeper and invest in more juice and do a bit more reading. At the most I am out pocket change. Well, it seemed more than that when I clicked purchase, but that is because I generally make micro payments into my tobacco habit (i.e. only a pack or two at a time.)

That said, I've always had my failing when it comes to giving up tobacco , which is beer. If I drink beer, I want the throat hit of smoke as well as the nicotine. A patch doesn't do it.

From what I have read, some people seem to get that satisfaction from vaping while others go back to the analog. I hope I am the latter rather than the former, but I figure at the very least if I can cut out most of my smoking during the day and only smoke analogs with beer at night in the short term, I am doing myself some good.

Clearly this is going to be a long personal project.

Welcome to ECF, zredsox! It is a long personal project and it also takes an initial investment. I hope you find that it's worth it. I know I have. Let us know how it goes for you.

I love beer too and i can promise you with a low resistance atty, and some heavy duty 24mg juice you will get your throat hit.

    Good luck with it.

    I agree. Welcome to Vaping.

Just a FAIR FAIR FAIR WARNING.

Please do some research on Prepping Your Atomizers (Atty) for Use and other methods for dripping the atomizer or doing Cartridge Modifications (Cart Mods). Otherwise, you might just find the experience isn't a good one and give up altogether.

I myself, have a Blu E-cig, and my boyfriend has the eGo.

It took us both awhile (about 2-3 weeks) to learn how to use both of them. When I say "learn how to use them", I mean... we went through thread after thread on this forum and just tried different things with our e-cigs until we found what worked best for us. Now, I can safely say that I get total satisfaction out of my Blu, and my boyfriend can say the same for his eGo.

He got his from Janty, and it was a good deal. The eGo is actually a Joye product. Janty just buys directly from Joye and rebrands it.

As for me though, I did a little more research, and I'm ordering mine from heaven-gifts.com

They don't put any logos on the products, they're actual Joye products, and they offer a HUGE color selection on the cones, attys, and batteries. And it's fairly priced, too. They also have the eGo XL batteries, which last fairly longer than the standards... even though the standard batteries are freakin' awesome. And everything is currently in stock.

As for juice. It all depends on preference and the juice itself. I've ordered some things from one company, and the fruit flavors all tasted like a Pez candy... and then I've ordered from another... and some flavors were awesome... others were gross or just not strong enough.

I've only tried Propylene Glycol (PG) based juice up to this point. I would like to try some Vegetable Glycerin (VG) juice. I've read it produces better vapor and flavor... but it's thicker.

Like I said. It's all a matter of finding what works best for you.

Financially, these days, I guess it is pretty much a wash with the sin taxes being placed on tobacco. So, I am ready to spend whatever it takes, I suppose, if this is a viable solution. Everything I have read points to it being one, so I consider it a wise investment. Thanks for your support and I will definitely share my journey, no matter the end result.

Honestly, I am more concerned about my mom (who is in her 60's) and still smokes. I was hoping that with this maybe there would be a gateway to help her and help me at the same time. I'm still reasonably young and stupid and don't fully accept the doom at the end of the tobacco road. She on the other hand sees the writing on the wall, but can't quit.

If I can get this to work for me and get an idea of what would work for her, I'd have the best Christmas gift in the world.

I was looking at those. So right now I am going to go grab a 5 pack of LR attys and 24mg juice. Thanks!

    Welcome,
    I drink, A bit, I Vape, A lot.
Used to be when I was drinking and smoking, I lost count of the number of butt's I had burning, now I just lose track of my PV's - LOL. At least I won't burn the house down.

Be sure to take in lots of H20 along with your drinks and Vaping, both will dry you out.

Yes, I realized that after the fact, but I am fine with getting what I ordered for the price I ordered it at as I'll be smarter in the future (lesson learned.) I also saw the 1000 mah batteries and all sorts of cool stuff on other sites and now understand the manufacture vs. branding system of e-cigs, so I'll definitely be investigating soon and have a clear idea as to what I am doing.

Right now, I just need to get the product in hand so I have a better idea of exactly how things work. That said, I will start reading now on atty prep. Thanks for the heads up.

    No prob, dude.

It's better to learn now than invest the money, hate it because you have no knowledge, and then think you've wasted all your money.

It seems you are trying to be realistic which I agree with. Think of it as being transferred to a foreign country & having to switch to a totally different brand of cigs. Could a smoker do it.

Look at the polls- start here
How long did it take you to stop smoking?
From what I have seen most switch.

Some of us switched near effortlessly!

Complete noob really but similar story to yourself coming off a 30-40 a day Benson & Hedges habit with a strong need for that kick that comes from a strong cigarette (I've never, ever, been able to smoke lighter cigarettes!). 18mg juice doesn't really do it for me, not enough of a hit I just end up chain vaping it but 26mg juice, oh my God does it hit the spot just right. I get a wonderful throat hit reminiscent of that first cigarette after a few hours of abstinence.

Seriously, if you find the stock carts don't do it for you invest in some samplers of high strength juice and give them a shot. No idea about low resistance attys yet (am waiting on a delivery) but higher strength juices do seem to (at least to this strong cigarette smoker) hit the right buttons in terms of the "kick" that I want when I get a craving.

    Anyway, hope this helps!
