Should I buy a new e-cig?

As mentioned before, I bought a SmokingEverywhere kit in the USA. I realise I've been ripped-off in terms of price, but are there models which give a more consistent "smoke"?

Problems I'm having at the moment include: battery life (one of them may even be dead), a "plastic" taste when the pad gets dry, and the need to add more liquid very frequently.

I've also noticed that the pads are getting lower in the cups, these are the main culprits for the "plastic" taste - I think the edges may be melting! There must be a market for stainless steel refillable ones?

One thing I like about the SE model, though, is the authentic look - especially the glowing LED. Do all models look as good?

So, should I buy a new e-cig, or should I persevere with this one?

I used an Njoy for about a month, I switched over to a 901 and haven't looked back. easier draw, much more vapor, cart is easier to top up with juice (or buy blanks and fill with your own) batteries last longer...

I've not used the particular one you have, but if I were you - I'd jump to another one even to have as back up etc..

The problems you are listing seem to be typical issues with the technology in general. You are facing the same things we all are.
As far as the nasty taste, that is exactly what you think it is. As the juice dries up, you start tasting hot metal and burning fiber. The key is to not let the unit get to that point. If you start tasting that even a little, STOP and refill or swap the cartridge. This is critical for getting longer life out of the atomizers as well as maintaining taste.
As far as getting a different unit, that's like asking should I buy a PC or a MAC. What I can tell you is a LOT of people on this board try just about everything before they settle on one they like, and in huge numbers, it seems like experienced users end up with one of Trog's Screwdrivers. I skipped over the painful process most people go through and went straight for the SD. That's what I have now and man does it vape like mad. My first unit was a Janty dura-c. I liked it a LOT but supply seems to be a huge issue.
Function trumps aesthetics for me. Not everyone feels the same, but the screwdriver is a fine looking device and well made, it just doesn’t look or feel anything like a cigarette.

Battery life is variable. My brand new screwdriver (1 day old) came with 2 batteries. One vapes like crazy and has a decent life cycle, the other puts off nearly no vapor and dies almost immidiately. So you can and will get bad parts no matter what you buy. All I can tell you there is to keep some stock so you can survive the shipping time required to get replacements. This holds true for no matter what unit you buy.

The SE 3.0 isn't that bad you need to keep the carts and atomizers alittle wet.Try dripping right on your atomizer just 2or3 drops and use the blank mouthpeice or take out the white part of the mouthpeice.Just push it out with a paperclip.Mine works great just dripping without the cart inside

Without even reading the post, I'm going to say Yes. It doesn't matter what you have already... the answer to buying another is Yes. My answer is Yes. Of course, that's why in a month I have a 901, 801, mini-pipe, e-cigar, and Screwdriver. Yes. Yes. Yes.

Going to have to agree with Walrus, here. The only harm in buying a new device is that you have to spend money. Depending on which device, though...it may not be very much. The problems you seem to be having are mostly general e-cig problems. You're not going to get away from them.

The benefits to having at least one extra device a great, however. First, you may end up liking the second one even more than the first. Try finding a device with a larger cart that goes longer between refills. The penstyles are large and not "authentic cigarette" feeling, but they have large carts and are usually easy to find parts for.

Which brings me to my second point. You'll want another device so that you have options when it comes to replacing parts. Say somebody's got an m401 and a DSE901. All of a sudden, everybody's sold out of batteries for one of them. Now at least they have another model that you can try to find parts for.

Most models do have the LED on the end. The only mainstream model I can think of that doesn't is the Dura C. Most models do come in white, as well. Check out the review section for people's thoughts on the various devices, and you may find one you're interested in trying.
