The longer the better for the first charge. When I first got my Joye 510 a month ago, I charged it till the green light came on (about an hour) and it lasted 20 minutes. Then I charged it for a full 8 hours. It's performing normally now.

Most batteries are shipped with a partial charge so about 2 hours or until the charger light turns green. Once the light turns green, the charger is turned off, so it doesn't matter how long you leave it on.

Heh, then why does everyone say to charge your batteries extra long when you first get them? Damn old wives' tales somehow perpetuating themselves.

Many instructions from the manufacturer say to charge 8 hrs. the fist time. No one knows why??? Most here say there is no reason to do this. Instructions left over from other types of batteries is my guess.

Long initial charges are better for ni-cad batteries, and possibly even nimh batteries, not so with li-ion batteries. Vape one one while the other charges as soon as you get them if you have two. When the light turns green it's charged, no point in leaving them longer.

The instructions are old hold-overs from the days of Ni-Cad batteries. You can pretty much ignore them with the Li-Ion batteries used today. Vape your head off with one while the other one charges and you'll be good to go.

Ya pays yur money and you takes yur chances. I've literally lived off of batteries for more time than most. Over The Road, and sleeping in it. 12v fridge, laptop, GPS, NOAA radio, CB, both satellite radio's, and ran a CPAP to sleep with. Some batts seem to last forever. . .some die sooner than later. I've NiCd's that said they were good for XXX number of cycles. I've used those batts every work night for going on 7 years! Now, I work security, security is always on. . .weekends, holidays. . .makes no difference to me. Last 6 years I've only had weekends off, and half those I've worked OT. I'm always on. Been using eCigs since May. Have yet to loose my first battery. When I first started, I followed the instructions that came with the eCigs. Charged one set 24 hours. (Don't care, that's what the damned thing said to do). Anymore, I just charge um till the light turns green. Seems to me the people that make all these things that make up an eCig could get together an talk to one another and sort out what proper practice is for all this crap. But, seems they don't. . .so who knows? Having lived on the road for considerable time my best advice is. . .carry spares!

    Cheers,
    otrpu
