Default USB Passthrough Dead?

I recently bought my second USB Passthrough. My first one died because I didn't reinforce the endings and the cable became frayed.

This 2nd one I reinforced and everything was great for a few days. However, It stopped working completely.

I know it's receiving power since when I plug it in the light blinks. When I try to vape the light blinks for 1/2 a second but than stops working.

Is there something I can do to fix this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

its a USB Passthrough for the 901

Regards

Michael D Lee

Convert the non-functioning units to manual switch pass-throughs. I had a Puresmoker pass-through that flaked out last week. I gutted it, removed all the microprocessors and LED, installed a switch and it is a much better device for the effort.

That would be my redommendation, at the same time replace the wire to more heavy-duty ones. Chinese USB pass-throughs, although I haven't got mine yet broken, tend to break on both ends occasionally. I plan to do the same when mine dies eventually.

Also, upcoming PS usb pass-throughs should be good enough to last long time, as at least it comes with 3 month waranty.

I think you can find in the modders forum. I don't think it's too hard, really - but I haven't tried yet, to be honest! LOL - but it seems pretty strightforward.
Just little bit of soldering needed, as well as a fitting switch. Regretfully, I have to run out now so I can't find you the link though..

The same thing happened to mine a few days ago. I reinforced mine also and was ever so careful with it. I would REALLY appreciate a post showing how to fix this so I can take it to radio shack and see if someone working there could take it home and fix it.

thanks!!!

You must have some very friendly and well educated friends at your local Radio Shack my friend! It usually takes the associates at mine 10 minutes just to say "Hello" to me when I walk in! Thier expertise is another matter entirely! The Wiz!

What are you plugging your passthru into? The USB port on your comp or a battery pack?.. If comp, you might want to try a power pack... I'd get one of those reguardless lol Kensington is way kewl.. Curious, did you buy both passthrus from the same place?
