Default Just Started please help

Ok so i had heard about this a few months back and then about 2 weeks ago i was at my local mall, and smoking everywhere had a stand set up. SO i bought a gold starter kit and i got a red icig for my wife. (same parts as mine just a (different colored battery). SO it seemed great at first but now i have a a few questions/complaints. It seems that it stopped working so well. Are these just generic parts with a private label on them? Can i roder my own reeplacement parts from somwhere else? It seems the atomizer works less and less every day. SOm of my cartridges dont work at all it seems. Seem like the battery life has decreased dramatically. SOmetimes when im done taking a hit the thing stays on and gets extremely hot, which seems to kill the cartridge and battery charge. ANyway this thing is startin to really piss me off. What is a good replacement for it. I want something cheaper and more reliable. ALso i need something that produces a lot of vapor to satisfy my smoking need. My wife is ok with less but i need a strong hit. I called smoking everywhere and they told me to take it back to the shop i got it form and they should replace everything. However i doubt the mall stand people are going to help. SO i'm going to have to send it in and wait for them to send me replacements. Honestly, I dont trust them to ever send my replacements so i dont know what to do. It seems that they are a rip off and i should go somewhwere else anyway. Sorry for rambling on so much and thanks for the help.

First, congrats!

Second, go back to the Smoking Everywhere (SE) kiosk and get replacement parts. (I'm crossing my fingers that you don't have to mail stuff in.) Bottom line is that you paid a premium to get a warranty, and you should take advantage of that.

Third, start reading this forum because, as you suspected, you're probably going to want to get another model/brand of e-cig, whether to be your primary vape or as a backup to your SE.

The most frequently suggested model for a new e-smoker is the DSE901, primarily because it's easy to use, not many bugs, cheap, and fairly easy to find parts for. Perhaps most importantly, it gives you a good baseline to determine what you like and what you don't like, which is extraordinarily helpful if you decide you want to try something else.

Since you're a vapor kind of guy and you seem to already have the hang of e-smoking, you might like a 510. There are several different manufacturers/brands of 510s out there, so it might get confusing. Probably the best known is the Janty Dura-C. It's more expensive than the competition, but Janty provides an excellent warranty.

The 510 is small, sleek, and a vapor producer. While the manual batteries take a bit of getting used to (it's a button on the side of the battery that you depress to turn it on), folks get used to it real quick. Most of us who like manual batteries enjoy the control it gives us.

Now, if you're willing to take a walk on the wild side, you might be interested in a "mod," a generic term which basically refers to most everything that doesn't look like a "traditional" e-cig. The mods tend to have more powerful batteries which tend to produce better vapor and last longer in between chargings.

Those of us who use mods, swear by them. I have a Screwdriver, and I love it. Seriously. But if you don't feel comfortable vaping something that doesn't resemble a cigarette or a pen, then a mod may not be right for you.

The main mods are the GG, the Screwdriver, the Prodigy (due out soon), and the JantyStick. You can find loads of information on them, as well as many, many other models, just by spending some time browsing the forum.

thanks for the info!!!

I saw here

sorry cant post link but its in the "suppliers people should be warned about" thread

SmokingEverywhere - seem to be getting everywhere in the US. Very expensive, no return policy and the product isn't good, except the Gold/3.0 version which is a standard RN4081. Got suckered in by Smoking Everywhere

Does that mean i can order RN4081 parts for it? This thing seems like junk, And the cartridges barely hold any liquid. I was just watching a video of the 901 and it seems it has like 3 times as much wadding in the cart to hold liquid. Well I'm off to the mall after work to try and get new batteries and atomizers. and some free cartridges while im at it.

a few more questions as i think im definitely going to order something today. The 901 is the one with the usb pass through right? Do i have to order the pass through separately and is it readily available? I'm definitely looking for something with a manual battery or a pass through capability to deliver those strong throat hits to get me off the analogues. thanks again for the help guys.

Hopefully the guys near Baltimore will have some tips for you - also look in the Suppliers forum to browse for best prices.

Best

I love your enthusiasm. It reminds of, ummm, me and a thousand others. LOL

Many of us end up buying multiple products. All of them have their advantages and disadvantages in one form or another. It's my hope that you can take full advantage of this wealth of information here, daunting as it may be at first, and make an educated purchase. Like you, I started with an RN4081. It's akin to your first car, a sub-compact, if you will. I didn't have an e-cig in my hand until a few weeks ago and I've already bought 3 models since.

My advice, FWIW, is to slow down a little. Check out the vids, especially Spikey's intro to vaping. Try to figure out your own criteria and base your decision on that. Every question you can possibly come up with has been asked somewhere in this forum. Take some time and check out what others have asked and/or ask them again.

Regardless of model(s) you choose, you're on your way to ridding the cigarette habit for good. Best of luck.

I suggest looking into getting the VX2 from litecigusa.com because it is the perfect starter kit IMO. The price is great, the device vapes like a volcano, and the customer service is beyond fantastic.

Yes, your SE GOLD is the exact same thing as a RN4081 so you can buy parts online that will work just fine with your e-cig.

Something you should try is to take your atomizer off the e-cig and remove the cart from it. Now place the threaded end of the atomizer in your lips and blow through it with a tissue in front of the open side of the atomizer. This will usually blow out any obstructions or build ups of liquid and can help to make the atomizer perform better.

Something else you can do that will improve the thrat hit you get is to get some e-liquid and drip it directly onto the atomizer then use a 'blank' cart to cover the atomizer. To make a cart into a blank, just stick a paperclip into the hole on the mouth side and push out the little cup inside.

This is an example of the vapor I get from my SE GOLD...

I just want you to be aware that SE gets beat up pretty good on these forums. It is 100% true that they overcharge up the ying yang. It is 100% true that their sales people are complete idiots and liars. It is 100% true that the company itself makes unfounded claims regarding health and longevity of the carts.

What is NOT true is that the 4081 they sell is a POS. It is actually a fine e-cig for the class of devices it is in. Compared to other super mini's it is not at all bad. I even find it to be just as good as the 901.

I am not trying to tell you that you have a top of the line e-cig. What I am trying to tell you is that before you just dismiss the SE GOLD, make sure you are getting what you can out of it. I have several e-cigs now and the SE GOLD is the one I use at work. I am a carpenter and it stands up to the abuse of a jobsite very well IMHO.

Richie, take a deep breath, put down the credit card!
Its easy to go nuts buying all kinds of stuff trying to find the "right" e-cig.
Read around the forums a bit, especially look into people's reviews of the M401 and the 510 (lots of different names, titan, yeti, etc). These are two of the best and newest technolgy e-cigs and I think that you would be well served by either.
I haven't used a 510 but I keep hearing consistently that it delivers a strong hit, that coupled with the availability of a manual battery (trust me, you want this) makes it a strong contender for best e-cig.

You can get USB pasthroughs for virtually any type, its an extra accessory, doesn't come in the kit.

Best of luck

John

I know SE has a bad rep- but I have to speak up for some vendors- they are all owned by dif people here in ATL area(so I assume its that way everywhere?) and the one in Stonecrest mall here honors warranties and the sellers are very nice. I think it will depends on the seller him/herself. So go ask them!
Its a rip off to people who have been around, and I have bashed them pretty hard myself, but considering I have now spent more than what they sell them for on replacement parts for my DSE901- had I bought the SE mini I would have a year warranty in place around the corner instead of a pile of batteries and attys to send back to china. Theirs are crap, mine are crap, my friends are crap- and we all have dif models from dif sellers.
