My strongest menthol experiments so far....this version is strong enough to give a long aftertaste of menthol and lots of vapors...but I think you guys(and gals) will have trouble sourcing the raw igredients because one of the main solvent needed is homemade.....
First of all get a 5ml eyedropper bottle and fill it up with (at least half) menthol crystals which is available commercially at the pharmacy...and then filled it up to 5ml of homemade alcohol(mine made from rice..) or some people will use ethanol(white wine)...aloow the alcohol to dissolve the menthol crystals with occassional shaking of the bottle....once it is fully dissolved if left standing will separate into 2 layers...the top clear layer will be menthol liquid and the lower will be alcohol....but can only be used if it is mixed into a murky solution...now mixed it to e-liquids of your choice (my preference is Flue-cured Tobacco and homemade Menthol at the ratio of 3:2)...
I hope you all can try it out..the strength of the menthol kick is depending on your mix ratio..happy trials...cheers...![]()
Stev, no it doesn't have a great throat hit but very very minty tasting. I think had I gotten some with nicotine it may have a throat hit. I was thinking of mixing it with the JC Artic mint I have and see how that is. I'm a little afraid to mix my own stuff so I probably won't do what jim is talking about although I bet it would work.
Don't waste your money on the Bickfords. JC juice has more menthol flavor than smoking pure Bickfords peppermint. And JC juice has the weakest menthol I have found. Menthol crystals have to be the way to go. They will disolve in oil, alchohol, and warm water. I'm thinking, boil some water, turn it off, insert a bottle of e-liquid, leave for 5 minutes until warm, add crystals to taste. Since menthol crystals are what they use for menthol cigarettes this has to be the solution. It is nice for these suppliers to offer a bazillion flavors, but how about getting one right.

I have tried Doc's suggestion, but with water.
I used a small dropper bottle, added hot water, a few menthol crystals, dissolved and added to my DIY batch. I still have to play around with getting the ratio correct. Now sure yet how strong I want the menthol flavor. I have also added a few drops to my flue-cured and was pleased with the flavor.
I will have to try the alcohol mix now.
I do have to say my sinuses have never been clearer as they are when I am mixing this stuff.![]()
You are misusing menthol. I have calculated safe menthol dose in e-liquid to be 1.5%. See Time for me to annoy you guys in another way
I am a menthol JUNKY and I too think that nicotine is the easy part to quit compared to the menthol. I can't guarantee that I know what you are specifically looking for, but I just ordered a bottle of "Minty Menthol" from PureSmoker and I think it is really quite good. It even makes my water feel slightly cooler if I drink while vaping.
I should mention however I have only tried one other kind in comparison so my opinion is based solely on my desire for a nice cool menthol, and not on product experience. The previous menthol I had was TERRIBLE, as was the Ecig.
It tastes a bit like mint gum. Which is nice, although is does make me want to chew gum!
Good luck!
By safe I mean as safe as food is. Now I'm not competent to actually tell it is as safe but at least you will be more safe than if you do not do these calculations. I'm certainly expecting to be relatively safe by following jecfa's recommendations. These are about food flavoring not inhaling vapor but nevertheless should give good guidelines when judging what is safe.
I wouldn't add menthol just by how it tastes, because, well it doesnt have a taste.
