New Member Introduction and a question
Hello,
I would just like to introduct myself to the forums and ask a couple of newbie questions along with some input for a couple of ideas. First of all, I have been on this forum viewing the massive amounts of information the past week and very impressed with many of the regular posters, and along with some of the suppliers.
So, backround on how I got into e-cigarettes:
I saw a poster for the njoy at a hookah store that I frequent in Chicago, awhile back, but paid little attention to it, figuring it wouldn't be that great or I would have seen people with it already. Then, about a week ago, a good friend of mine told me that her father was ordering an E-Cigarette, and after further explaining, I realized this is what that poster was all about, and after a few google searches, came across this website.
Yesterday, I headed back to the hookah store, and after asking the owner who was running the shop about them, he gave me a demonstration of it, and explained that he only carries Njoys cause after testing quite a few, he believes them to be the best, although from what I have read, they have their problems. What really made me decide to buy from this shop was that they have a very very generous exchange policy if something goes wrong, along with a generous referral program if I brought any if my friends in.
SO far I am in love with it, occasionally I have problems with what seems like to much pure liquid coming out, but it's become less frequent. I went to a restraunt last night with an old friend, and had to go to the restroom two times, both times making good oppurtunities to take a good few puffs to settle any nicotine fits I may have. I work in my home office in front of a computer, so I'm afraid I may be smoking it way too much, I've only had it for about 28 hours and I've already gone through 3 catridges, which as everyone seems to know, for NJoys that can be very expensive, which leads me to my next question.
I know dripping voids the warranty, but I've read in these forums about people refilling their catridges by carefully taking out the filling and putting a little e-liquid in and slowly letting the filling soak up the liquid, is this the same as dripping? And if I am careful about it is their any harm that could come done to my njoy?
I have another idea I would like to post, but understand that there is another Forum category where this post would be more relevant, so I will try to post there before the days end.
I know this was a long first post, and I apologize, but thank you for reading, I promise in the future they will be more to the point.
Thanks for your time,
Strungmind

hi strungmind. anyway you fill up that cart is called dripping. you can use a dropper, syringe, take the fluff out and soak it. or if you are careful, drip directly onto the steel wool you might be able to see at the bottom of the atomizer tube. you can do this with or with out the cartridge fluff, though drip too much and you might flood the battery, too little and you might dry out the fibre that hangs in a coil beneath the steel wool out of view causing your atzer to die. topping off a cart seems to be a good way of doing it, whereby you only wait till a cart is half ful before using a dropper to slowly re-fill. alslo caution is advised as to which e-liquid to use. some are not as filtered as others and the residue will clog the atzr.
yeah i imagine using any liquid other than njoy's voids the warranty if you are honest about it. therein lies the catch with njoy who sell the most expensive carts i know of. but they do have to make there money back on all of the failed atzrs. i think they have a 1 year warranty so that could equal 12 or more replacement atzers. though as with any warranty, they rely on people to stop bothering after a while. as you have a store nearby, you should have no probs getting a replacement immediately so thats good, but i imagine like most of us here, you will start to expand your ecig collection fairly soon and start trying different models.

Thanks for the welcome!
I appreciate that bid of information. What I was thinking of doing was ordering a E-cig from puresmoker since I've seen alot of reviews and since it's cheaper, for my girlfriend who smokes and loves the concept for her birthcoming coming up in a few weeks. Although I may have to get her something else to go along with it as I think I'm doing it for more selfish reasons (ie practice dripping where it's cheaper to replace to atomizer and to just plain try out a different e cig).
I have feeling that your right about my ecig collection expanding fairly quickly, although I just need to justify it finacially, (using the liquid, and my girlfriends b-day, etc).

well i guess technically, you are not "supposed" to drip on the njoys at all as they do not supply their own liquid. janty does though and its relatively inexpensive. also tests preformed by a member called knutselpeter showed it to be one of the cleanest out there. their starter kit is in the the njoy price range and they also provide the 1 year warranty on parts i think.
also they keep a presence on the forum which i admire any seller for doing as it opens themselves up to questions/criticism which they might feel the need to respond to. you will notice njoy do not though they do heavily market their devices through random blogs and other things around the net.
cashmere is also a great guy and a pelasure to deal with i have heard, sells some popular models, though his warranty will be shorter to account for the price. also his penstyle parts should fit the njoy if you bought the penJoy model. there are a few other US re-sellers of similar kits who i feel sorry for as they are not mentioned as much. though they also kick-back here. phylo who posts often is one and for the others you can check out the suppliers section.
yeah i have really been blowing a wad on these things too and have no excuses other than having a careless nature with dosh. im currently setting up an online help organisaton for others like me called e-cig anonymous where we can swop stories and cry together about failing our mortgage payments and family commitments on account of our obsession. so you'll be welcome when it opens and after your e-cig themed gifts that are really aimed for yourself have led your gf to leave you. i'll have a shoulder waiting.

Haha, that was just a great statement. Well, I'm going to be doing further research in the supplier section to see, I have been keeping my eye on a couple of brands for awhile now.
And as far to the gf bit, that amused me alot, but just a little fyi, she's been enjoying the njoy, so much when I'm with her and can't find my njoy, all I have to do is look in her hands and there it is, so I think she will be quite happy. I guess maybe I should buy an Njoy since that's what she's use to, but that's where the greedy part comes in of buying her a differenet type comes in, and who knows, maybe she will like a different better.

Ok, I know this is a probaly a dumb question, but I have noticed that my Njoy atomizer will start to get REALLY warm, on the outside, I mean, more than usuall occasional, and seems to have nothing to do for how long I'm puffing on it, I could take 9 puffs, and it'll be fine, walk away, and take one two and I feel the heat. It also seems that the hit almost completely goes away when this happens.

Could it be that your cart is getting dry?

You know, I would have to believe that my catridge was dry, because shortly after it happens I have to replace it. But the weird thing is that if I reinsert the catridge, it stops heating up so much and I get a better catridge for just another few puffs (I don't keep track but I would have to estimate 20-40 puffs).
As much as I love my njoy, I am quite certain I am going to have to buy an cheaper alternative, because I am now on my 4th catridge. I am still smoking a couple of cigarettes a day, where as I use to smoke a approximately anywhere from a pack to a pack and 1/2. So within 3 days I'm going to go through a pack of catridges? Seems kind of expensive at $20 a pack, and E-liquid voiding the warranty. I am trying a high nicotine cartridge for the first time that come in my starter package, in hopes that it will slow me down a little, but I dont' think it would be wise of me to constantly be using high nicotine as I like to just puff all the time on it. Another idea I have is once I get my cheaper e-cigarette, practice dripping on that and then eventually do it with my njoy a little at a time so I can ENJOY my njoy!

There are other, much cheaper suppliers who sell cartridges that will fit an Njoy, I can't point you in the right direction at the moment because I can't remember where I saw the post about compatibility. You might be able to find it if you have a look at Njoy threads.
If I was you I'd get some eliquid and drip with the Njoy. Don't worry about voiding the warranty, nobody else does. Just don't tell Njoy how you vape when you need replacements.
Well done on cutting down on cigs and welcome to the forum.
