    Default ego-t help

Recently I've started noticing something which I haven't noticed before. It is a lack of th and flavor and I don't know where the problem is. When I take the tank out though, and drip two drops of liquid into the atomizer and take the tank back on I get a really nice throat hit again and the flavor seems to come more a live for the next 10-20 drags or so before it dwindles into almost nothingness both with regards to flavor and th. As mentioned before I didn't really notice this until quite recently after I switched atomizer. However, if the atomizer was the problem I don't understand how come I get the th and flavor back when I drip two drops into it. So, I figured that perhaps there was a problem with the particular tank I was using, so I switched, but it didn't help. Do you think the soft caps are to blame? I can't really remember having this issue when I used the old (hard cap) ones.

I hope you can help me out as my cigarette cravings almost seem to come back when I never seem able to get a decent th without dripping directly into the atomizer before taking the tank on.

(Oh, and I know most of you are into cartomizers atm, but I'd rather not go back to cartomizers as I found the taste, when I first switched to the tank system, to be superior to the flavor I got using cartomizers. Also I like being able to use an atomizer for months at a time instead of having to change cartomizers every week.)

Sometimes the wick needs to be repositioned on the tank atomizers. I don't use tanks and don't know how the wick should be but hopefully someone can help you and there are probably Youtube videos.

Also - what is the PG/VG of your juice. If you use juice that is thicker than tanks like (like up to 30%, maybe some thinner 50/50's), it will wick too slowly. You could also check to see if the hole if spike put in the tank left a "chad" - a dangling piece that may be impeding flow.

Also - are both your old atomizer and new one the same ohms? There are both standard reistsance and LR tank attys.

Hi kantor..I also use the ego tank one thing I would try is going back to the hard cap "i found the fluid flow around the hard cap to be better than the tight seal the soft cap makes...When you are using the hard cap another thing that helps is to completely remove the little plastic center piece that the atty sticks into..allot of times the atty just pushs it to the side .."on the cap of the tank" ..but it stays connected and that can also restrict fluid flow and also cause leakage..these two tips have really helped me with the same issues..hope this helps you

Thanks for the input jamentertainmentri and dormouse. In my current liquid it's about 20% vg I believe, so I don't think that's the issue. I have now tried to completely remove the "dangling piece" but it hasn't seemed to help unfortunately.
I think I will try to order new caps from another vendor that sells the hard ones. It's a shame I don't have more of them laying around. The ones I ordered recently are all soft ones

or wait, I have some hard cap ones from totally wicked with liquid in them, so I'll just empty one, fill it up and see how it goes. I'll report back

now I've tried to switch to a hard cap tank, but it didn't seem to help. I switched atomizer and that seems to have done the trick, but can't be too sure yet. Still, I find it odd if the atomizer (which was just a week old btw) was at fault.

hey man, the ego-t attys seem to be thrown together so fast that they never get the quality that you would expect. Myself and two of my friends have all bought the system and every problem we've had has been solved by wick adjustments, or replacements. our problems ranged from no flow, no th , flooding, leaking, lack of flavor. no matter what the problem it was always a problem with the wick. maybe to high maybe too low maybe too loose. i suggest looking up youtube vids on wick adjustments on the ego-t atty hope it helps.
