Is this how an ecig is supposed to taste???

Hey everyone, I have now had my 510 for three days, but I have an issue. Everybody talks about a burnt taste, and I get that, but I have a problem with the flavor of the eliquid. Hear me out...

I bought Strawberry carts from EST, and sample liquid from nuvape. I get a taste from them that tastes just plain weird! Aside from the labeled flavour is quite weak(apple, watermelon, etc), the liquid both tastses and even smells odd from the bottle.

Is this just how the eliquid smells and tastes? is it the nic in the liquid? The PG?

I guess I expected vaping to taste differently. I really need some clarification before I give up on this. Is there a liquid that just tastes like pure fruit with no other flavours?

I just got my first e-cig a couple of days ago and I am using the menthol carts that came with it and I too get a really weird (and pretty gross) taste from it. When I replace the cart it tastes alright for the first few puffs but after that it tastes.. weird. I can't describe it well either, but it's kind of burnt or metal tasting. You get the same taste when you use the liquid?

No, I know the metallic taste is from possibly the primer fluid, and the burning taste is from a dry cart. My issue is since I first opened my first prefilled cart and smelled it, it just has a strong odd scent to it which translates to the same odd flavour that only has a subtle undertone of whatever flavour I was vaping. I've tried a bunch of samples from nuvape, and the e-smokey carts I ordered and thay both have this odd taste to them.

I know I'm new to this, but everyone describes their juices as "this strong and fruity flavour that's so delicious." I just have this weird smell and taste to it. I know it's not just the atomizer because I smell it on the brand new cart when I first open it. is this a normal thing? I don't know if it's just the way these liquids smell or if it could be old liquid. I don't know, but it bugs me!

I thought it might be the nic or the glycole. I have ordered juice from cigtechs.com and ruyan that should be coming soon. I hope it is just those juices, but something tells me it's just how the standard eliquid smells and tastes. is it possible that two different companies can have liquid with this odd overtone of scent and taste?

This really pisses me off. I was very excited to start vaping, and now I just feel a little disappointed that the liquid has this funny smell.

Sorry Deadcat, I guess it might be a perfumey smell and taste. I don't know exactly how to describe it. if you pulled out a brand new cart of a fruity juice; does it smell like just the fruit, or does it have another scent that accompanies it?

I know I probably sound like a weirdo, but I can't fight this. And, nobody wants this to work for themselves as much as I do!

my impressions on the taste, when i am using my 801 pen style i get a good taste, like the hard candy version of what the flavor is supposed to be, coffee, vanilla, ect. when i am using my mini i can barely taste what it is suposed to be and i get a metallic taste overriding it. i am not sure what the differences are maybe the amount of vapor more vapor more condensation?

I have never liked the pre-filled carts. They always taste funny to me. As for Nuvape juice, there is a whole thread on the nasty, burnt rubber, or prefumey taste. I personally got a couple from them that tasted really bad.

As for the metal taste, on my 901, when I get a new atty, i blow out the primer, stick a kleenex inside it to absorb any primer that might be left, then add a couple of drops of whatever I am going to vape, put the cart on and take a few puffs without inhaling. That usually takes care of the primer taste for us.

If it was me, I would buy some juice and blank carts and fill your own. I buy the no flavor juice and make my own flavors to the strength we like most of the time. An ecig should taste good and not terrible like you are describing. Something is not right so we have to figure out what that is.

BTW, what type of ecig are you using? If you already posted it I'm sorry, I just missed seeing it.

dinobello said he was using a 510, you can give him more insight on that than i can, i have not tried the 510 yet, sticking with my 801. have tried the nuvape juice and acctualy threw it out waste of money just a horrible flavor. happy right now with janty and liqued express.
