Default newbie with questions re the carto tank syringe mod

I bought a thing from the truck stop called Mistic. 5 cartomizers and one battery. Regular cig style.

I watched the mod on carto. tank syringe mod. Cut the syringe and put a cart in it with a cut in the carto and fill it.

I would like to try this but have a few questions, which I wish mods would tell why they are doing what they do.

    Anyway.

I question if it is a cartomizer or just a cart? Sometimes I am not sure lingo of what he actually means.

Why does he cut the cartomizer and does it go clear thru into the chamber so there is a hole?

I could put one of my cartomizers in this mod tank if I knew if the hole goes clear thru and if he is connecting an atomizer on the end or just a battery tube. All I have is the battery and cartomizers, I don't have an atomizer.

I hope I made these questions clear and that someone can answer them.

I have trouble refilling the cartomizers and trouble with them burning and getting a bad taste.

My real goal would be to make a flashlight mod with good batteries like cr123's and make this tank to go with it.

    thanks for reading,

A "cart" refers to a cartridge - which goes on top of an atomizer. The cart will usually have some poly fill in it to hold the e-liquid.

A "carto" refers to a cartomizer - which is a combination cart/atomizer single unit.

You need a carto (cartomizer) to use with a syringe tank mod; NOT a cart (cartridge).

The hole goes through the carto casing to allow the e-liquid to enter the carto from the tank. Care must be taken when making the hole to not damage the atomizer coils inside the carto.

Also, your carto may have a 'decorative sticker' on it. If it's not bare metal then chances are there is a sticker covering on it. before putting one of these in a tank, I'd remove the sticker and any glue.

I think the video on this first page shows it pretty good http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/for...ooks-easy.html

The hole you make goes thru just the metal casing, not thru the filler, or you would damage the air tube.

On black cartos you can peel the black covering and any glue off. Using a carto tank will prolong the life of a carto. I just changed one this morning that was 2 1/2 weeks old. It didn't die, the draw was just getting a little stiff.

A percentage of 80PG/20VG eliquid is the easiest to use with a carto tank as it is thin enough to wick easily into the carto.

I use a carto tank with a filling port as I'm a klutz when refilling the tank. I use a syringe to suck out a syringe worth of air before I use the syr to fill it with liquid.

If you use a tank with delrin endcaps, or you mod a syr tank from a regular syr, you can fill it with a syringe by sliding the syr down the side of the endcap, being careful not to nick the endcap which would cause leaking. If you have air pressure leaks, leaks that come out of the hole in the end of the carto, try the 'removing air' technique.

Thanks for your replies, I got it now.

I have a lot of burnt tasting carto's and think this will help alieviate that.

So, I will build a tank. Next, a beefier battery pack. Looking at a small flashlight case.

That should do the trick for me.

    Thanks again
