I started vaping about 2 months ago. I am currently 1 month and 4 days smoke free, I have limited myself in what I have purchased only getting what I "need" lol. So far I have saved money compared to what I used to spend on smokes.

Congrats on the switch and on saving money... be warned about getting new mods, it can be addictive and expensive... Lol

I used a variety of e-cigs. They have helped somewhat to decrease the cravings for cigarettes.

However, I have recently tried vaporizing tobacco. I have found this much more satisfying and I really feel the nicotine rush. I'm wondering if anyone else is doing this also?

    you guys are funny.

I use to drive a horrible old jalopy whose tires were bad and whose breaks caught fire weekly. It was costing me a fortune! So, I switched to a bike thinking I would save some money.

I went and bought a Aurumania’s Gold Bike Crystal edition for $114,000. And man...let me tell you that BIKING costs a LOT more than driving a car.

I spent waaay to much in the beginning on hardware...had to find the ONE! Lol. After that it was the same with juices ~ again easy to validate as I had to find the ones that satisfied. I'm proud to say, I'm getting better. Maybe. Some. All righty then, not much better! But I'm much healthier and having alot of fun! (Does that count?)

Yes. Vaping is more expensive. As you can see people keep buying new vaping toys. The shopping never ends.

Not me. I've even stopped looking at vaping sites. Since I DIY my own juice, I feel no need to buy anything. I'm on my ninth smoke-free month. The purpose has been served. Don't really care if I run out of supplies. I'll just simply quit vaping. No big deal. I'm absolutely sure I'm not going back to analogs. True story.

VV box mod = 45 bucks
    a few tanks @ 12 bucks each = 24 bucks
    3 sets of batteries at 10 a set = 30 bucks
    3 chargers @ 10 each = 30 bucks
    10 cartomizers at 2 each = 20 bucks
    100ml juice at 13 per 50 = 26 bucks

175 bucks there. It's lasted well over 2 months.

I used to smoke a pack of camel wides per day.
    that's 30ish packs a month.

    60 x 6.25 (average price per pack out here) = 375 bucks. Or 60 bucks per carton, 10 packs in a carton = 6 x 60 = 360 bucks.

And I won't need to buy another VV box or batteries for a long while yet. Just cartos and juice.

I wanted vaping to be far less expensive and guess what? It has been far less expensive.

The PV, four extra batteries and chargers and back-up parts didn't cost that much. I currently go through about $30 in juice per month and maybe $10 for cartos, max. That's about $40 per month. The last time I purchased a carton of Camel Blue 99s (last winter) the price was $42 here in CA. So, monthly cost of vaping for me is less than 25% of what I paid for cigarettes.

Total initial cost: $147 (same cost as 3.5 weeks of cigarettes)
    -$47: Stainless steel E-Power 14650 starter kit.
    -$48: two complete additional E-Power 14650s from parts. I have back-ups.
-$16: four additional Trustfire Blue protected 14650 batteries
    -$23: five additional YL-103A chargers
-$6: two cube taps to assemble clustered chargers for all six chargers/batteries
    -$7: one box of cartos

Sigelei Zmax V.3 Telescopic (flat top). 19mm XL glass tank from IBTanked. Smoktech single coil 2.0 LR XL cartos. Unflavored DIY 95/5 VG/H2O 15mg nicotine with Xtreme Vaping nicotine base. Vaping since 11/19/2011. 35-year cigarette habit ended 4/22/2012.

It's only more expensive at first, but once you settle in on your hardware and you don't go crazy on buying new stuff, you could just spend money on juice and maybe cartos ($35-50/month).

It took me about six months to break even, but after that, I started saving $100+ a month, and that wasn't even for a whole pack a day (maybe 12 cigs a day of cheapo Virginia Slims 120s)!
