This is why. The taxes on cigarettes in NY State are rediculous, the city is even worse. They claim they want you to quit so they raised the taxes then try to outlaw e-cigs. Yeah they want you to quit...

TITLE OF BILL:

An act to amend the public health law, in relation to prohibiting the sale of
electronic cigarettes


PURPOSE:

To prohibit the sale or offering for sale of electronic cigarettes.


SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:

Section one amends Public Health Law § 1399-aa to define an electronic
cigarette as a battery operated device that contains cartridges filled
with a combination of nicotine, flavor and chemicals that are turned
into vapor which is inhaled by the user.


Section two adds a section § 1399-11-2 to prohibit the sale or
offering for sale any electronic cigarette.


Section three provides that the act shall take effect on the first of
January succeeding its enactment.


JUSTIFICATION:= BS
Electronic cigarettes are products designed to deliver nicotine and
other substance to a use in the form of a vapor. They are typically
composed of a rechargeable, battery-operated heating element, a
replaceable cartridge that may contain nicotine or other chemicals,
and an atomizer that, when heated, converts the contents of the
cartridge into vapor.

In 2009, the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a press
release warning individuals about the safety of electronic
cigarettes. Their laboratory analysis revealed that some electronic
cigarettes contain carcinogens and toxic chemicals such as diethylene
glycol, an ingredient used in antifreeze that is toxic to humans. In
February 2012, a 57 year old man reportedly suffered severe injuries
when an electronic cigarette exploded in his mouth.

I'm sending individual emails to everyone in the list provided. I am sick of these money grabbing politicians who seem to have forgotten that they only exist to serve the citizens. There can be no justification for banning devices that eliminate the hugely negative effects associated with smoking.

Bumping for visibility

I have been waiting for this to start. The electronic cig is growing at an alarming pace. It can go underground and it can be done alone. It can be homemade and they have very little chance of stopping it.

Prevent it by shoving bad reviews about it. Yes expect that.

Wait for the famous person to have something bad happen to them with e-cigs and it'll only segregate the opinions of it.

They'll do there best but they won't get help from the big boys. I'm talking about people above all of the mentioned here and the governments.
These are just the money grabbing low lives that collect the crumbs of plates where the elite have just shared a nice pie.

It's old hat. On it's way out. They have time to re-invest into new ways or go another direction. Some will fight for all sorts of laws to be implemented because they are scared. The people are finding there own ways of doing things and in huge numbers and they hate that.

The e-cig could of been made when batteries were first implemented and although I don't know the history of how it started I can be sure that it was held back. The Chinese are always good at breaking down these walls they put up. So I wouldn't be surprised if they were the first to bring it into the open to the disgust of many. But to the delight of people.

Anyway I have had my rant and I will study more on this and speak to a few friends that'll know a lot about this.
