Is the cleaning cycle bad?
I'm seeing more and more people talking about how they try to avoid the cleaning cycle. Lots of comments about it creating a bad taste they can't get rid of or damaging the atomizer. Why is this and how can you avoid it if needed?

apart from anything else,it makes the atomiser taste like crap-and thats no exaggeration-for ages afterwards...no matter what liquid you try to use to drown it out...
its supposed to burn the crud off your atomiser, but frankly id rather live with the crud...
all you can do is unscrew your battery very quickly when you hear the hiss and see the light blink rapidly for longer than if youd just took too long a drag...and pray you made it in time...

is it just random or is their a certain time scale between cleans?

it's supposed to go by hte number of puffs, and is suppsoed to be built into hte 'microchip'- but I've had cleaning cycles go on way before others have on some atomizers- not sure why

its supposed to happen every 1500 inhales...personally i think this varies wildly...
there is a puff count going on in the battery...so even if youre using a brand new atomiser with not new batteries, theres a chance that it could self clean first puff...you have to be vigilant...
plus they always closely follow one another for me,because i regularly swop my batteries,so its roughly the same puff count on both...im always watching out for that other one...i know its coming...

The auto clean cycle is one of the most idiotic pieces of design. Uncontrollable, unpredictable, totally useless.
If you see it happening, unscrew the battery as quickly as you can.

I let it clean once and will never, never let it happen again, as my fellow members say unscrew or suffer the consequences
