    Default Newbie Tank Questions

So, I've tried cartos. Hate having to fill them over and over. I've tried clearomizers. I like both the Stardust and the Phoenix BC, but I've been having flavor issues with both. I haven't given up on the clearomizers yet and plan on tinkering some more with those. I've managed to be analog-free for 3 weeks now, but I'm still trying to find my sweet spot.

I think it's time to give tanks a whirl, and I'm hoping you wonderful folks can make a recommendation for me.

I'm using a kGo 3.8v from hoosierecig. Love the battery so far. As far as the tank goes, here's what I'm looking for.

    1. Reasonably priced since I'm just trying this out and not sure if I'll stick with tanks. Not looking for something cheap, but I'm not going to drop $30 on a glass tank just yet.

    2. I'd like something on the smaller side for a tank. 2-3ml capacity is sufficient.

    3. This is more of a personal preference thing, but I'd really like the tank to be ego threaded, or at least be flush with my kGo in width.

    4. Needs to be durable enough to handle acidic juice.

I might be asking a lot. I'm not sure. Hopefully something like this exists and one of the many knowledgeable members of this forum can help me out. Thanks in advance.

    hi M Runshe,

While not exactly what you have said as it is about as big around as a nickle you might want to look at the Vivi Nova.

Other than the width it meets your other requirements and works well IMO. Tho the link is for the 2.5 version I have been told the heads for the 2.0 are better.

Isn't the Vivi Nova basically just a giant clearomizer? I think I'd like to give the caro/tank system a try.

Cheapest right now is probably the DCT V2 carto/tank. I use the 3.5ml version with great success. IMHO, I like single coil better than dual coil so I either use 3.0ohm Boge (on VV at 4.9v) or 1.7ohm Resurrectors (on 3.7v fat batts).

So after doing some more digging, I think the 3.5ml tanks would work. The size looks right, and I could get one of the small cones to make it line up with my ego. I'm hoping someone can recommend a good, leak-free 3.5ml tank and cartos to go with it for someone with a 3.8v kGo.

According to a chart I saw, the 1.7 ohm was too low for a 3.8v kGo. Is that not true? Also, can you recommend a vendor for the DCT? I've read that some leak and some don't. Want to make sure I get the better ones, if such a thing exists.

I use 1.7 ohm Resurrector cartos with my KGOs every day. Can't help you on a carto tank as I don't use them, I use a Nova...

@3.8v, 1.7ohm would provide 8.5watts (pretty warm). Rule of thumb is that batts over 450mAh are fine with LR, but I would've thought the kGo would be a nominal 3.7v which would be 8.1watts (very nice). If you wanted a cooler vape, Boge also makes 2.0ohm (@3.8 would provide 7.2watts - which is still nice) 50mm carto that fits DCT tanks.

I have 4 of them and really like the Chrome end capped ones I got from Crystal Clear Vaping (they also sell the Boge cartos in 15 packs which is convenient + a free drip tip). I've never had any of mine leak, but will say the 2 "smoked" colored ones are not as precisely manufactured and the clear/delrin and the clear/chrome ones I've received.

I think the standard kGo is a 3.7, but according to hoosier ecig, the one I purchased is a 3.8.

Out of curiosity, what do you like better about the single coil cartos?

(just my experience) Flavor and longevity. The term DCT (Dual Coil Tank) seems like a way to come up with something "new" and "exciting", but I've tried a half dozen or so and just haven't had the same predictable performance or consistently good taste that I get from Bode singles.

YMMV, some folks LOVE dual coil.
