We either need reliable or disposable products. Once they can make an e-cig that lasts for the same amount of time as a regular cig and sell them in packs of 20 for less than a pack of cigs then we're there.

Yes, agreed. That is part of the dilemma for me - the equipment is so temperamental and 'throwaway' but I don't view spending £30 on a starter pack and a further £20 on e-liquid as a throwaway amount. Of course, had everything worked as I expected then £50 wouldn't have been a big outlay.

I read everyone's 'methods' and 'tips' on this wonderful forum and think it's great they exist and that people share such stuff but it seems to me that there is such effort attached to everything. I guess I want the moon on a stick - I want the convenience and health benefits without all the faffing around.

In a society where we are creating more and more rubbish to go into landfill sites I'm not sure about disposables. I agree that a greater degree of reliability is needed. However, a very reliable e-cig would also be almost certainly very expensive - there is little incentive for a manufacturer to make a product that is reliable and lasts indefinitely. Where will his repeat sales come from?

I'm all for the development of e-smoking products that don't look like cigs or cigars, allowing for the use of big batteries.

With a bit of luck we'll get both disposables and reusables. The mass market probably requires something as cigarette like as possible for now but boffins like a lot of forum members will be more open to refilling and charging devices that last and look different. For some it's a straight swap with cigs, for others it's a completely different vice that happens to stop smoking.

Yep. That's why I'm going to be keeping an eye on the forum, and hope to go back to e-smoking again in the future, as I can already see that people much smarter than me are working hard on design improvements and alternative products.

Personally, I couldn't give two hoots if what I smoke looks like a cigarette or not - so I'm all for the innovations like the doc from Malaysia is trying to patent. If I get fairly reliable performance the rest is secondary.

Sounds to me like both batteries were having problems with their switches possibly because of the new switch design Trog was talking about.

Six weeks or so with a 901 showed me that these things can reduce the smoking of even the most confirmed heavy smokers like myself. Like you I got fed up with the faffing about charging batteries etc.

Like you I do not care if what I smoke looks like a ciggy. So got a screwdriver from trog a couple of days ago. The first pre charged battery lasted a day and a half of heavy use. On the other hand it sucks hard so need to top up carts quite often. Personally I do not find this as irksome as charging batteries althought I do think the screwdriver needs a bigger cart.

Maybe worth your while looking at the screwdriver? Not cheap of course and will probably still needs regular atomiser replacements. However it certainly so far for me gives me an experience which is closer to smoking a cig than the 901 managed.

It really Pisses my off when all these suppliers lie about the stats on E cigs bottom line they need to act as professionals and not cowboys they should always cover any faulty parts for at least 1 year ! as with most consumer products ! 30 days is just not acceptable just because they know how cheaply and badly made there products are.
I think this whole 31 day thing is a scam anyway. After all would we buy a Radio TV or any electronic device if it wasnt covered for a year?
