Default Hey all Noobie needs some guidance please.

Hiya all, I am not a smoker but my better half is and she truly wants to stop, so she gave me the task of looking and inquiring about Ecigs. So here I am \. In any event a brief background: She smoke Newport Lights and smokes on average about 6 a day and sometimes if we are having a few drinks she will smoke up to 12-15 . So I come to you guys in hopes you can get me on the right path on which kit or Ecig to order for her. This is complicated stuff lol. The voltage, Juices. tips. flavor, strength etc. From what I have read I think the KGO kit is good to start with but I am not 100% sure. What should she go with what flavor strength etc. Please let me know so I can order it for her and she can stop. We will both be eternally thankful. Thanks for your advice.

KGO is a great place to start if she will use it. Some beginners prefer a cig look-alike, at least at the beginning. The cig look-alikes don't have as much performance (flavor, vapor, and throat hit) as the KGO, but since she is such a light smoker, it be all she needs. A Volt is a quality cig look-alike. Don't waste money on the mall e-cigs if you can avoid it. After choosing the hardware, she will need to decide on juice. Sampler packs are definitely the way to go at first rather than just ordering a lot of something that just sounds good. Too often the names given to juices don't match the actual flavor.
AN cig look-alike, Ego-C, Ego Twist, Lavatube, Provari V2, iTaste, Evic, Vivi Nova, iClear 16 & 30, Pro Tank, AGA-T2, Cobra, Telescope mech, Precise Plus 18650

Kgo is a good place to start, as for the nic strength I'd start out at 12mg and if she still craves regular cigarettets move to 18mg, I used to smoke a pack a day of marlboro lights and 12mg is what I started with. The flavor of the liquid is purely subjective, not everyone is going to like the same flavors. I used to hate menthol cigarettes but my favorite nicotine liquids are the menthols. ECBlends has many flavors to choose from at 2.50 for a sample size bottle, sample sizes are what she will want to start with until she finds what she really likes. At ECBlends you can customize the flavors with extra flavor, double extra flavor, add menthol, add sour. She can branch out from there, Ms. T's Bakery is another favorite of mine, Halo, and AlienVisions as well. These are the only ones I have tried so far.

The first thing to find out is what she's comfortable with. Many first time vapers want/need something that's closest to smoking and use a cigarette sized device to make the initial switch. The bigger batteries like the Kgo or Ego may be bigger than she expects and may put off her making the switch. My wife used 510 cigarette sized ecigs for months before she was ready to move to an Ego, and after a year is using an even bigger device. Maybe she should try a disposable from Walgreens if she's unsure before you spend much.

The important thing is to get started, so if she wants something most like the smoking experience that's fine too. For liquid, Halo Truepure and Menthol Ice work for both of us former Newport Light smokers. 12mg will probably manage her cravings as she's not a heavy smoker.

Let us know what she prefers and we'll come up with a couple kits to fit. Good luck!

My advice to you would be to get her two of the girly Ego Q batteries with Vision Clearomizers. These are almost always available at HealthCabin, and sometimes you can find them here in the US. They are cheap easy, and dependable. I know there are alot of newport inspired juices, but finding a juice she will like is all trial and error. Your best bet is to find a vendor that offers sample packs and experiment until she finds one she loves. Dont get hung up on menthol juices only though. There are so many awesome flavors out there that may very well surpass her craving for menthol. This happened with my sister, and she now loves most everything from pinkspot vapors. Good luck

Hi and welcome to ECF. For a long term solid PV I would also recommend the Kgo BUT many ladies do not like the size. Here's a link to a pic of the Kgo next to a sharpie and marker. It's really not that big but is true 3.7 volts and has long battery life:
Newbie - I've read a lot here and just a few questions
The Volt is the best cig sized PV available right now and the Smokeless Image/ vendor has a huge and loyal following. Their customer service is prolly the best in the industry. Problem is when partying the batts would prolly not be powerful enough.
Here's a link for the Kgo starter kits with many "ladylike" colors:

Realize when choosing a PV...batt info: 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before requiring recharge.

    Good Luck.

I would suggest looking at a Kgo kit and samples from the Absolute line at Virgin Vapor. They're all organic and have no alcohol in them so smell incredible as soon as you open them. They're just so easy to vape and I haven't had a flavor I didn't love!

yup, eGo or KGO are excellent starter kits, and what most people I know started with. 12mg strength is a good mid-point, and will allow her to get an idea of what the vaping experience is all about. As others have mentioned, don't worry too much about menthol right now - I hated menthol cigarettes, and now my all-day vape is a an organic menthol juice - get some sampler packs of different juices/strengths so she can get an idea of what she likes. You'll want to grab a few atomizers/cartomizers as well - I would recommend low resistance, 1.5 to 2.0 ohm. With this setup she'll get an idea of what she likes about vaping, and what needs to be adjusted/improved (strength, flavours, throat hit, battery life, etc).

You can always flip gear on the classifieds if it doesn't work out for her! Good luck!

With as light a smoker as she is there is no doubt in my mind what I would get my wife if she was in the same boat.
It's a bit pricey, but she would never feel afraid for someone to see her with it.
At her vape pace the little 10440 battery is probably all she needs.

If you want a larger sharpie size device I highly recommend a kgo instead of an ego. The kgo is a 3.7 pv as opposed to the ego 3.3-3.4. Many ego users who try the 3.7 device end up switching.

I agree with the others though you may want to consider a cigarette size Pv. Does she may end up switching to something larger in the future, many people find it easier to switch from an analog using something that is similar to a cigarette. You want to go this route, look at mini pv's that use an 808 connection. They tend to give you the best battery life for a mini. The "minis" that use the 510 connection are not as good
