New user, anxious to get answers & learn!!!

I'd made my mind up to get an e-cig with the next paycheck I had coming. I should've done research first, but obviously I had no idea whatsoever about all the different models out there. I went for convenience, before I changed my mind (& bought a pack of analogs)...went to the local head shop & got a NicStick starter, which I've found is a 510-T system.

I ***LOVE*** it when all is working well, but the batteries don't stay charged long, and sometimes I get leakage into my mouth. By now, though, I've bought another battery, a few accessories, and a bunch of tanks; I don't really want to change systems all together, as one of the two main reasons for switching to e-cig was to save money. Looking for suggestions regarding batteries, tank leakage (just occasional), parts compatibility/mods, atomizer cleaning, etc. I could probably spend hours right now just reading on here to find what I need!

I'm excited to have a place to get suggestions & info from other vapers!!!!

welcome to ecf and vaping if you want longer usage time on your batteries, get an ego or 2 LOL. they will use the same 510 parts you already have

I'm new too so hey! I have come to realize that in order to appreciate the good you must suffer the bad so don't feel bad about you not perfect but good enough for now set up. Embrace it! while you shop around for the one you really want. I did the same thing...lol. Nice to meet you!

I am still pretty new too. I had to call it a hobby so I didn't feel bad about spending money on everything. I didn't, and haven't saved any money so far. I however, tried to dismiss the waste of money a carton of cigarettes cost. I have several large mods, and still use my ego batteries more. I watched a bunch of youtube videos, and that really helped to find out what I wanted to try. My taste has changed so much since I started vaping. I have several tobacco flavors that I won't ever touch again. I have went to light and fruity flavors.

Thanks for the quick welcome! Right now, biggest issue I want to resolve is battery usage. Mine seem to die awfully quickly, but I don't know what's normal, either.

Thinking of a pass through & a mega battery for my next accessory purchases.

Changing to a new system will likely have to wait until bday or Xmas, but depends on how much I figure I might spend in accessories between now & then. If it's going to be as much as a new system starter kit...well, then...might as well take the dive now.

@ Motoman: Great suggestion, but I don't have much time to sit through YouTube videos, unfortunately. In trying to find info, I've seen there are quite a few.

@ Evie: I was a menthol smoker, so that kept me plenty happy for the first 2-3 weeks. After that, I got bored, so I got some flavors, and wow...if I wasn't hooked just using menthol (I was. I vaped continuously that first day), I certainly am now! It's so much fun to have the flavors!!!

I am still spending a little less even buying little accessories. I spent about $50 on the starter kit, so that was the biggest chunk, but $20-$25 every other week on juices & accessories amounts to less than the $20-$30 per WEEK on cigarettes!!! Once I get my system settled, it'll be a huge money saver!!!

How long a battery will last depends on how big it is, its size is measured in "mah" or Milliamp Hours. The more mah the longer it lasts between charges.

Many cig sized batteries range between 180-240mah. Which gives me AT MOST 3 hours of use (depending on how much you use it).

Also how big of a battery you get depends on how big of an item you want to carry around, what I do is have a BIG battery for when I am home, and 2 smaller batteries charged up and ready to go for when I leave the house.

There are MANY vendors that carry them in different sizes. 900 mah should last all day.
