I just got my 510 Titan from Totally Wicked. I've been vaping for almost two weeks now. I had the same experience when I first started vaping. Bad taste no vapor; but after a couple of prefilled carts that bad flavor went away. For me the flavor kept getting better n better after every cart. The carts the kit came with were pre filled tobacco flavored with diff nic strengths. The problem I faced is that the carts did not last long; after a few vapes I lost the throat hit and only had vapor. But that all changed when I purchased some juice. I got two 10ml bottles of MLB Low along with 10 empty carts from dietsmokes. Man oh Man what a freaken difference; the flavor was amazing and anytime I felt like it I just topped off the cart. In my opinion sellers should clean the attis and direct drip before shipping; also they should include in the kit juice n empty carts instead of the pre filled ones. This will way the first timer like myself would not get discouraged.

This is really characteristic of prefilled carts. I've gotten them from a couple places just to have spares (the 901 flat tips) for my 510. I swear, the taste HAUNTS my smoke for quite some time. BLECH. Where do they get that stuff they call juice? Even removing the filler didn't help as I forgot to actually clean out the cartridge and some drops were still apparently in there.
Gah. Can anyone possibly like this?

Nuvape and Totally Wicked...
Got my e-juice from Nuvape and my 510 from totally wicked.. Highly recommend both companies. 24mg pineapple and grape both taste really good... the grape tastes very similar to grape soda, the pineapple is almost like sour candy. They also have a very strong throat hit (related to the high nicotine content, I believe), and even cut into 12mg with distilled water and glycerin, still hold their flavor. Would also recommend buying some replacement filler material... many people on the forum recommend pyramid tea bags, I'd like to recommend poly filler from hobby lobby. It's like $2 for a pillow size's worth... ridiculously cheap! And works like a charm. Pre-filled carts are waaaaaay overpriced and highly disgusting to vape. Not sure how anyone uses them as a single source for vaping.
Happy vaping!

I have to agree that my first experience at vaping left a nasty taste in my mouth. It did taste just like the smoke from a fog machine that some people complain about. After a couple of days and using different flavors of liquid, that taste is completely gone. I've even used another new atty and didn't get that taste again. Maybe my taste buds are used to the PG/VG or maybe it's in my head. Either way, I now enjoy my vaping experience. Good Luck.

Is using cotton from cotton balls as fill for the carts okay? Is there some reason NOT to use it? I found a thread regarding using wool, the pros and cons, but can't find one on cotton. Please excuse if I can't see the forest for all the trees and point me to the thread if its already been discussed. Thx!

Bumping this old thread.
I have this same problem with my new 510.
It worked great at first, now it tastes like burnt plastic.

See the 2nd post in this thread, he details it there. Some have also said it might be the prefilled carts. I know i used to get a burnt taste with the cartridges that's primarily why i direct drip now.
